    2024 Off-Season Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

What better time to start better eating habits than after a stomach bug? Gained over 30 pounds throughout last year, making it harder to get into my hunting clothes and finding my knees hurting much more after long walks/hunts. Started a new job last year which didn’t really change my activity...

Do you track your hunts? I want to see them!

No but I definitely will start next season. Thanks for this. I do journal my kills or decent buck encounters in my HuntStand app but I like how you broke down every hunt, hour, and encounter.

    Platform/tree seat double duty

This is brilliant @Wlog! Too bad I didn’t see this with more than 6 days left in the season. Will definitely be keeping this in mind for next season though. I tried sitting on my predator previously but the top standoff hurt. Never thought about flipping it and attaching it to the tree like that.

    2024 Gear thread

I’m in that boat. I could honestly careless about weight savings. Heck, best way I can cut weight is off my own body. But compact… that’s the only reason I got into saddle hunting in the first place. Was tired of getting my climber hung on brush in thick pines/cover. Sticks worked better but...

    750W Fat Tire E Bike- $275

The SaddleHunter effect took over and they realized how much they were underpricing the product. It’ll be available again in a week or two for $750.

What did you learn this hunting season?

A 30 pound weight gain during off-season really makes climbing more difficult and hunting clothes much tighter.

    Goals for 2024?

To shed 50 pounds off my total setup. 40 of that being off myself of course. Started a new job early last year and put on almost 30 pounds due to poor diet and increased time driving. Knees really felt it this hunting season. The other weight I hope to ditch through 2TC. Gonna start practicing...

    Stolen valor

Even with a quick crop you could still see some of that nonsense. Like this…

    Stolen valor

Oh the cess pool of social media. Stealing others photos all to receive some clicks and likes. Sadly, this is modern day marketing and media. Most don’t care about the authenticity and personal connections to their stories and articles, all they care about is the traffic and likes that help...

One stick vs 2TC vs Wild Edge

This should definitely become your signature to each post. Love it!

    Hawk helium mod idea

Not sure about the stacking flat part but I did take the suction cups off each stick. This allowed me to take two sticks, with standoff facing one another, and nest them together. Then use a Nightize gear tie to cinch them together. I found this allowed me to pack my 4 sticks much more compact...

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Thanks for the Blake’s hitch info all. Wasn’t planning to use it, likely going the CGM foot loop route. But just couldn’t see the purpose mentally even with all pictures here and it was bugging me.

    Why don't yall 2TC?

I’m still in “research mode” on the 2TC idea for next year. Pardon my ignorance here, but does this Blake’s hitch not adjust like prussic or other friction knots? And if it doesn’t, why not just tie it to a prussic instead? I’m not exactly seeing the issue with adjustment on various tree sizes...
