sticks to convert for one sticking

I use a beast stick for one sticking. Drilled my own holes for the cam cleat.

    Backwards hook up on tether?

Not overthinking it. In the arborist world, the gate is kept away from the tree cause it had the chance of opening as you’re doing your work in the tree if it rubs up against the trunk of the tree. The gate is kept down cause even if it would rub, gravity would send the lock down and keep the...

    What’s in your quiver?

Shot Kudus a couple years ago and never again. Had to put 2 more into a deer after putting 2 into him to begin with. Buck stayed alive for 6 hours after the first 2 until I finished him off. I know 4 shots sounds ridiculous and that’s cause it is but it’s true. IMO, the blade angle isn’t steep...

    Flat Paracord

Sounds like you should leave the system you have in place alone. For the record, I haven’t tested it myself but I can’t see that gutting paracord would increase any benefit except packability. Weight on 40ft of paracord is negligible so as it is so that’s a moot point to me.

North central Pennsylvania meet up. Saturday June 27th 9AM

I live in the Lehigh Valley but I can go pretty much anywhere if we want to do another one

    New Aerohunter saddle?

Having regular old lineman’s loops can’t really be anymore custom IMO. You can put carabiners in both ends and take it all the way off or tie it on to your non-dominant side and have it permanently attached. Tie on a piece of webbing, rope, Amsteel, whatever you decide. Use whatever buckle...

    Rappel rope

Guys tend to just go with whatever other saddle hunters are using and Elite was not sold by EWO in the beginning. That’s my guess

    Rappel rope

    Well there’s your answer then

    Rappel rope

Same diameter, one holds more weight. That’s the one I’d pick

    Wearing a belt

My saddle rides below my belt so I wear my normal leather belt and it’s just fine. I also have a Sitka belt for my first lite pants and it works the same. They all ride above my saddle no matter what pants I’m wearing.

    Rappel rope

I agree with your conclusions of HTP. I liked it alot but dang it was stiff. The mantle construction on it makes for alot of friction on my figure eight on the way down but I didn’t mind it. The price is very attractive too. I think next time I buy rope it’ll be Canyon Elite and we’ll see how...

9mm and the Ropeman 1 Safe?

The Kong Duck is the same way. Much better design IMO. And alot of guys don’t even use them the right way when adjusting them. I used to use Ducks when I first started but after loading them heavily I didn’t like the little tooth mark they left in my ropes. I went to a friction hitch a couple...

    New Aerohunter saddle?

I just don’t get with the Merlin and new Flex they were saying “options, options, options” and with this they give you an attached LB…

    Rappelling from leaning tree

I’ve learned to just go with gravity. Go to the low side of the tree and come down that way, feet on the tree or not, it doesn’t matter. You definitely will not win against gravity.

    Rope storage in dump pouch

I do lineman belt and ROS in left pouch. Tether and gear hanger in right pouch. That’s what works for me for the last 3 years. I switched to one sticking this year so it’s a little different but when I used 4 sticks, that’s what I did.
