First hunt of the season amnesia.

Yea when I got to the top and reached for my platform on the back of my saddle I laughed at myself also. Excitement gets to the best of us.

    Firefighter Career

I started off being a firefighter right out of high school. I started in a paid on call department and they paid for my firefighter training and EMT basic training. I did that for about 6 years while working two other jobs. I then got the chance to apply for a federal firefighter position. I got...

    Saddle hunting after Back surgery

I had a disc removal and fusion in 2014 for a T6-T7 herniated disc. No hardware just a plastic cage packed with bone. Unfortunately I have been and always will be in pain due to scar tissue and nerve damage but I hunt. The important thing for me was the procedure returned full function to my...

    Best budget crossbow?

I use a Barnett whitetail hunter 2 and I am happy with it. I may replace it next year but only because I may get something with a smaller width limbs. It shoots great and launched my Grim Reaper straight through a doe last year.

    Heated Insoles??

Yea they just fit but they do. I was surprised that they did. I contacted Wiggys before I bought them and asked what size and they said to get a large because I wear a size 12. I did what they said and they actually fit all my boots. Some looser than others but they work great for all.

    Heated Insoles??

My Cabelas 1200 gram rubber boots or my lace up boots. My lease is extremely wet this year so it has been 100% rubber boots but now that it froze this last week I will switch to my lace up boots that are 400 gram insulation I think.

    Heated Insoles??

I have problems with my feet getting cold so I made some changes this year. I have a pair of Cabelas 1200 gram rubber boots that have not kept my feet warm in the past. This year with the boots I am wearing a liner sock and Merino wool socks with Heated insoles. for the most part this is good to...

    Moving to southern Wisconsin... HELP!!!

Welcome! I cant help with the hunting areas besides seconding the OnX or Hunt Wild WI app because I am in SE WI. AS far as clothing layering is very important. I prefer merino wool. Important to avoid cotton because it is useless if it gets a bit damp. Wool or synthetics are best. Also avoid...
