    One Stick Boogie

2 hanging stands, 4 sets of sticks, 2 ladder stands, 10 step wild edge set, a summit climber, a lone wolf sit and climb, all went to live with my son. Hopefully they'll stay retired, as he is getting the saddle and single stick bug. I think I'll go ahead and buy a saddle his size and...

How long can a knot be left before fibers weaken

I have rescue ropes that have had the same knots in them for 20+ years. They're retired to tree work now..ie. speed lines and pull ropes. They've had hella strains on them over the years and still going strong. A couple are so stiff from the strains they no longer coil into the bags. I won't...

Research.. check Plan.. check Execute.. check Rich, you've got it all covered. You're the guy everyone wants in their circle in a SHTF situation. I'm betting you're not one to get rattled when the world gets sideways.

The things we find in the woods...

Keep it concealed unless needed. Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

    Coyotes... Shoot or pass?

It's a crime here also. They're considered companion pets. Feral cats are not excluded. Just don't take pictures. :) My buddy that traps uses the federal cat meat he traps to stage other traps. Yotes and a lot of other critters love cat meat. Crazy that trappers can kill them with...

    USPS shipping delays

I have a buddy that works USPS. He said our little post office has 14 - man height pallets to deliver. They're lucky to get one out a day. The priority is Amazon packages. Regular packages (the ones we send) literally get shoved aside and stacked back to get Bezos packages delivered. I'm...

Those tiny chunks of meat look delicious. The best deer I've ever eaten was a small button buck I took 30 years ago. I literally put that deer in my game bag and carried it out. That was my first ever deer kill. We (Navy shipmates I was hunting with) put the back straps on the grill that...

Which carabiners are best....and how to quiet them?

As far as the "click" when closing, slow down and manhandle the gate. No reason to aggressively freehand the carabiner onto the loop. Those little ticks, clicks, clanks, will clear the woods for you. You should be handling the gates to screw the gate closed anyway. Practice doing so quietly.

    Little Chef

Good to see others teaching their mini me to cook. 20 years ago i was teaching my then 5 year old son to cook omelets. He would get himself up early a lot of mornings and have breakfast cooked for mom and older sisters. He still loves to cook.
