    Kayak fishing

Man you have tons of options nowadays. Kayak fishing has blown up over the past 10 years. I recommend checking out Yakangler.com if you haven't already. Tons of info in their forums, on any make/model you can think of.

    Whats your go to sock?

Omni-Wool Tactical. I wear their mid-wieght "Medium Weight Utility Boot" socks year round. Merino/poly blend. They make Light, medium, heavy, and arctic weights. VERY affordable for good socks. https://www.omniwool-tactical.com/

    TEAM 4 Thread 2019

Heading out for the first hang with the platform now.... I'll let you know. I've been a ROS only guy so far and it's not bad but my feet do get sore on long sits. That's why I figured I'd try out the platform. I'm taking two of my Squirrel steps with me in case I feel like I want a step or two...

    LWCG Ambush Platform

With the quality of the Predator and Ridge Runner I have no idea why anyone would pay double. The craftsmanship on my ridge runner is awesome.... I'm very impressed so far.

    Ropeman observation...YIKES!

Redundancy has been discussed to death but... I run a second tether (at around chest height) and bridge for back-up. So I have two amsteel bridges on my saddle, and two tethers on the tree.

    Masking your sounds?

When I'm wearing gloves I just cup my hands over mouth and nose... muffles noise pretty well. I piss in an empty water bottle... not because of noise or scent but because I always end up pissing on my sticks or their straps. When I climb down I dump the piss bottles out. I don't think the scent...

    Colder weather

I usually dont put my warmer layers (jacket or coat) on until about 30min after I'm set-up at height. I heat up and sweat really easily so just climbing and getting set up makes me too warm to have my coat on. When I'm ready to put the coat on I throw my coat on, hook-up my linemans rope, pull...

    Ropeman observation...YIKES!

I use a RM1 on my linemans and a prussic on the tether with a prussic tender. It's really easy to adjust the prussic if/when needed... especially when using a platform. Initially I went this route because I was too cheap to buy two RM1s but I haven't found the need for a RM on the tether so I...

    Ridge runner.

Came home from hunting last night and found my Ridge Runner on my doorstep. 25 days from order to delivery. Can't wait to test it out in the backyard this evening and get it out in the woods this weekend.

    What ring of steps?

This exactly. Well worth the money. I wish I would have skipped all the other step options and went straight to Squirrel Steps and an OCB. I would have saved money overall.
