    Question

Absolutely NOT. Getting legitimate gear from reputable companies is cheap life- and long-term-disability insurance.

Private pre sets option ideas. Looking for ideas or suggestions.

I'm also on the ladder stand train here. Most double-wide ladders these days come with big curtains that hang down from the shooting rail/armrest and add a good bit of concealment. They're super safe for kids and easier to climb to get to hunting height than anything else I've tried. Another...

    5 must own guns

You're telling me you don't want a 9mm in your waistband when walking out of some remote public land in the middle of meth country after dark during archery season?!

    5 must own guns

My 5: Remington 870 12 gauge (or comparable) Ruger 10/22 (or comparable) .50 cal modern, in-line muzzleloader .30-06 bolt action (I'm partial to my Weatherby Vanguard) (covers 95% of same territory as 6.5CM and .300WM they suggested, and allows me to have the all-important #5 below...) Glock 19...

    EDC Options

BenchMade Bugout knife clipped to back left pocket, Airpods Pros in my front left pocket, and a folded handkerchief in my back left pocket go most everywhere with me. I'll add a little flat medicine holder containing Benadryl, Immodium, and Pepto or Tums if I'm going to eat something risky or...

    clothing talk

Base Layers: First Lite's merino wool is the best on the market from what I've seen and felt. Mine has been durable, comfortable, and does a nice job of moisture management. Meriwool is probably second best from what I've read, but I haven't gotten my hands on any. Mid Layers: To me, mid...

    Southeast Velvet Hunts

Not sure if you consider Kentucky to be part of the Southeast, but that's a great state for velvet hunting. KY has some huge bucks, thanks in no small part to its one-buck-a-year limit, and there's plenty of public land around. Their season opens 9/1 (or thereabouts) each year, so early...

    Sd card readers

I've tried a Boneview card reader, a cheap Chinese card reader, and the Apple card reader. The Apple card reader is easily the best for my iPhone (and my HP laptop, for that matter), and it was worth every penny.

Anyone use pants with integrated knee pads?

I really liked a lot about the First Lite Corrugate Foundry Pants I received for Christmas this year, including the built-in kneepads, but I thought the face fabric was far too noisy (swishy, not really crinkly, if that makes sense) for me to keep them.

First Lite Corrugate Foundry Pant - Noisy?

Hey folks, I just got the First Lite Corrugate Foundry Pants for Christmas. They fit me great (legs are a touch baggy, but I can live with that), and I absolutely love the features they offer. BUT, they seem SUPER noisy when I've worn them around my house. I don't want to wash and wear them in...

    Taller guys pack recommendations?

I'm 6'3, and I've been very happy with my Kuiu Venture 2300 (size L). That's probably a bit light on capabilities for what you're talking about, but they make bigger bags for the Pro frame if you decide to go that route. I want to say @gcr0003 had one listed on here a minute ago and could...

    Suppressor Guys

Another option for saving some dough is to go the Form 1 route and build it yourself. There are companies out there like QuietBore (affiliated with Creative Arms) that make it super easy.

    2023-2024 Waterfowl Thread

I talked to a buddy who hunted Western KY (right near the Mississippi River) over the weekend, and he said the few local ducks they had before the big storm front rolled through disappeared, and none of those fabled northern ducks migrated down to backfill, so they had a couple of dead hunts.
