Carabiners for the fearfull not for arguing sake

I'm not sure your experiment tells us a whole lot. I don't have time to do the math but, I'm guessing the force generated from a 200lb person falling mere inches is greater than the force generated by an 8lb sledge falling 3 feet.

Edit: Also, the concern in the other thread was more related to the non-locking aspect of the caribiner then the strength, although being cautious of the rating accuracy is also a good idea.
 
aint gunna lie i used my feet .still hurt .couldnt break it though.honestly i thought with that much dammage and angle i could get it .im only 170 though .ill try something els

i agree never use non locking carabiners
