I'd love to DIY; but while I may have a few skills, capabilities, and tools; sewing is not one of them yet...
I hammocked camped in 0 degrees on the side of a mountain and let me tell you, a sleeping bag alone isn't getting it done. I used an underquilt and a sleeping bag with the tarp pulled down tight. Not going to lie, my feet got pretty cool the first night. Second pair of socks the second night cured it.If you take a good sleeping bag, you don’t need an underquilt and over quilt.
This is what I'm wondering. If I can't sleep on my side... I don't sleep.Any of you guys side sleepers? If so how does a hammock work with sleeping on your side.
It is harder to sleep on your sides with a gathered end hammock but can be done. If you are a side sleeper, get a bridge hammock. I would suggest looking at Haven tents for side sleepers. https://haventents.com/Any of you guys side sleepers? If so how does a hammock work with sleeping on your side.

I’m a side sleeper in my bed but in a hammock I typically fall asleep on my back with my feet off to the right side and my head off to the left. It’s weird feeling but I sleep betterAny of you guys side sleepers? If so how does a hammock work with sleeping on your side.

Yall are going to have me attempting to sleep in the yard on Saturday...One thing I should have mentioned is that I sleep on my back but alternate/switch putting one leg at a 90° angle from my knee back under the out stretched leg. It is one of the most comfortable positions for me in a hammock.
Shug's YouTube channel is a bit like Ranch Fairy though. Some may not like him.

Is there any kind of consensus as to what is the best hammock for side sleeping? I ask this because when reading the reviews there will be both pro and con recommendations with regard to the same hammock. Is it just a crap shoot? Is there a specific model that tends to work with a large number...hammockforums.net
