Warmest outfit With out the Bulk

I used to freeze in my wool outer layers with any wind. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

    Cold Weather Garment Evaluation: Results

Ordered the Predator set on Friday. Sold the original Solitude years ago due to lack of wind protection. Hopefully next week I'll have an update. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

    Blue Tongue in Michigan

50 confirmed between the farm I hunt and two neighbors. Not even sure it's worth going out or if I should even try to harvest anything this year. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

Anyone wear a Stormy Kromer wool rancher cap

I have a regular and a rancher. Use the rancher for hunting, ice fishing & sedentary winter activities. I cannot wear it into a store as it's way too warm. Only thing I dislike is if facing the wind, it gets to my ears. The flaps are not tight enough to block wind like a stocking cap would...

One Stick & repel Setup - tether advice

That's the one! I use a Michoacan hitch on my shirt tether, way easier to break free than a prussik but grabs well. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

One Stick & repel Setup - tether advice

Just use your rappel line. Keep a second short one for going around limbs. But I suggest using a rope hitch instead of the ropeman. Less metal to ding. Also, learn to tie the JRB auto release, way easier to get out of the tree.

    Boot Recommendations

The above is 100%. Only thing I'd add is when you get srt, untie your boots. Makes a big difference. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Where? I only see a few hats on sale. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

I have the wolfskin bibs. They're my most versatile piece. Full size zippers, block wind great, easy to layer under and even during heavy rains they don't seem to absorb much water. The knit is so tight briars don't bother them either. I had the coat but sold it, the fit was like wearing a...

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

This is the way to go. Mid season in in mid weight socks and boots. Later season I add the blankets. If it's really cold swap to a heavy sock or add a hand warmer inside the blanket. So much nicer and my feet were never warm before. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Whats up with the 'Sladder Climbing system"?

Got mine a few days ago. Did 4 practice climbs in the back yard before hunting last night. I skip the last step and go right into the stirrups, not enough space to get my foot in the top step. The technique of putting your toe into the tree and swiping down creates more space between bark and...

    Venison Bologna (uncased summer sausage)

I don't eat pork and tried two different methods last year. Grinding beef fat in with my venison or adding dried milk. By far, the dried milk was the favorite. It added the binder I was missing. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

I've spoken to the inventor of these. Just a local guy here in MI with a great idea! Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

Been doing this for a few years. Either throwball or one stick to get it set. It's useful if you know what tree(s) you plan to be in. Less work than one sticking each climb. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Any one try srt out a jx3 saddle

I tried it with the regular bridge and a short one using the same connection points. It was not as easy as with a soft saddle. My goal is to use the JX3 every sit next year, it will take more practice for sure. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    Small folding saws

Third on the pocketboy. Loved mine so much I bought one for my dad as a gift. Blown away how good those things cut. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Keeping Feet Warm: A Different Approach - Down Booties

I have NEOS for work. But just like the artic shield, you have to size up about three sizes. I wear a 11.5 hiking boot. I cannot fit those in a XL NEOS. Wish they'd work, maybe they're sized for tennis shoes. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Tree Diameter Preference for Saddle Hunting

I prefer volleyball or smaller. The smaller ones allow me to see in front better while still blocking my sillouette. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Mid season Bibs for this season…too many choices

Grey wolf woolens, wolfskin bibs. I've had under armor, first lite, pfg wool, etc, nothing beats these. They're pricey brand new, find some on the returned merchandise tab or used. The wolfskin blocks wind and water, is totally silent, can order them lined or unlined. Blood rinses right off...
