    Smoked backstrap for 2 hours on traeger with mesquite pellets, seasoned with "cuso's dirt" Then seared in cast iron skillet for 2 min per side in bear grease Topped with asiago shredded cheese

    Sounds good! I usually dont eggwash and doubke flour because to me it takes away from the taste of the meat. I do squirt lemon juice on it while frying to help caramelize

    Hard to beat flour breaded pan fried tenderloin (no egg wash) with home made biscuits and gravy Smoke backstrap seared steaks are excellent Can't go wrong with smoked / Pressure cooked shoulders / roasts

    X2 for trekking poles This time of year i would forgo the jetboil and coffee and just take an energy shot of some sort. It would be nice to have in the winter but until temps go down i wouldnt pay the weight penalty.

Sticks are particularly a pia with a jx3 because of how far away they move the center of gravity away from your back, so they feel heavier than they are.
