I think that when using the tether in a girth hitched arrangement, the rope would not pull the strap downward - I think it would just tighten on the tree. I think in normal LB use where your LB is relatively in-line with the strap...

    Slightly off topic, but interesting and supports the fact that mesh as a baselayer has been around for a looooong time. I have an L.L.Bean catalog from 1972 with fishnet shirts for $3.70 and pants for $3.90! Wish I could get the Brynje stuff for that price!

    ROS comfort vs screw in steps

    I found ROS steps like the ameristeps, tree hopper, squirrel steps and bullmans to be much more comfortable than screw-ins. I found screw-ins to be too narrow and unforgiving. They just plain hurt. Same for bolts, for me.

    3 step aider pluses and minuses

    The longer the aider, the more unstable. Before you buy anything, try hanging your stick as high as you can and attach both ends of a piece of rope to the bottom steps to make a single step the same length as the aider you’re thinking of buying. Step up and try it out to see how it feels.
