    I replaced the dynalite on one my Tethrd one sticks with 1/8 inch Amsteel. It's a little tighter fit than the dynalite but it feels way more substantial. I like it much better and I plan on replacing the other 3 ropes in the near future.

    I wouldn't use a prusik above the Madrock. Especially if you plan to rappel with it. It's too difficult to break free It's under load. I use a Cornell hitch which i can break free with 2 fingers while loaded if I have to.

    Whatever device you are using, you should be backing up your device with some kind of hitch cord or autoblock. Make sure you you research your device to make sure it's acceptable for the device you using.

    IMO, you are just better off replacing it. It won't cost you much, plus you are paying for the piece of mind. It's going to bug the heck out of you every time you are sitting in your saddle otherwise.
