Wind proof bib recommendation that isn’t Sitka or first lite?

It says 45-60 degrees on the website. What kind of layering are you using under that to be comfortable in mid-high 20’s with wind? Not doubting I’m genuinely wondering. I was originally looking at the core set as it’s closer to the temp range I’d use them in. I’d spend the money on the phase set...

Wind proof bib recommendation that isn’t Sitka or first lite?

Not interested in spending $450 for a bib, jacket or pant. Would rather support a smaller company. I’ve owned both in the past so no hate just the value isn’t there for me. Love asio’s stuff for quality and price but their bibs are too baggy.

Wind proof bib recommendation that isn’t Sitka or first lite?

What kind of temps and wind have you tested them in? I bought the first lite solitude setup before they used legit wind blocking. I think they called it wind proof but didn’t have the wind blocking technology. On a really cold morning in the rut like mid 20’s with 12-15mph and layered well...

Wind proof bib recommendation that isn’t Sitka or first lite?

I have a lot of Asio garments that I love l but the bibs were way too baggy in the legs for me. They were definitely made very well though just like the rest of their products. Hoping they fix the legs on the midweight bibs.

Wind proof bib recommendation that isn’t Sitka or first lite?

I’m looking for bibs to wear in the rut with temps between the high 20’s to 45 or so. degrees. I tried the asio midweight bibs but they were really baggy in the legs. I’ve been considering code of silence for a while but just realized it appears they don’t have actual wind blocking technology in...

    Tethrd Predator CFX

Does carbon just kind of suck for climbing gear and platforms? I ditched my beast sticks for tethrd one sticks this year and had no clue how loud they were until I practiced climbing. Went through a ton of stealth and hockey tape and they finally went from wind chimes to just mildly noisy. It...

Harness or saddle for Treestand sits?

I appreciate that for sure. The xop harness is comfortable while in the stand but it’s sketchy climbing with it and I can’t really adjust the tether without my tree strap being really high otherwise I’ll have a lot of slack in my line and I don’t like that. I also haven’t tested it more than 2...

Harness or saddle for Treestand sits?

I’m leaning towards a rock climbing harness or my buzzard roost. Well aware of suspension trauma sounds brutal. I’m keeping no more than a couple inches of slack in my line regardless and if I can, completely taught.

Harness or saddle for Treestand sits?

Do you prefer that over a regular saddle for Treestand sits?

Harness or saddle for Treestand sits?

I was looking at the killdeer harness. Would that be worth trying if I already have a saddle? I don’t have experience with the KD but I’m trying to understand if there’s an advantage to having one over a hunting saddle.

Harness or saddle for Treestand sits?

Picked up a LW .75 and XOP rubicon this offseason for all day sits and have been playing around with different harness options. I’ve tried the HSS lightweight harness and returned it as it was loud and too big (they didn’t have my size). I’ve also tried my buzzard roost and played around with...

Hunting low elevation swamp while accessing high?

I’ll also add that the surrounding terrain plays a big role in how the air behaves. Obviously a low area with surrounding high terrain tight together is going to swirl. In this case, the terrain is spread out and very gradual. I do think I’d get some swirling with higher winds in this spot but...

Hunting low elevation swamp while accessing high?

I’m with you although I’ve never heard of the Bernoulli effect. The way I look at it is you have rising and falling thermals based on the sun heating the air in that area, and depending on the wind speed, the thermal can override the wind or the wind can override the thermal. Wind direction...

Hunting low elevation swamp while accessing high?

I love Dan and have watched a lot of his content. All the dvd’s and a bunch of YouTube stuff. The swamps he hunts in Wisconsin don’t seem to be in any type of rolling hills or elevation change areas. He seems to like hunting the top 1/3 of leeward hillsides in the mountains and big woods areas...
