    Deer Contest Regrets

I got my first saddle at the end of the 2019 hunting season so obviously I didn't get in on the contest. I joined the contest the next year (2020), broke my ankle in October. No deer that year for me. The 2021 season I hoped to contribute, nope. It was a rough season with a lot of missed...

Single stick cam cleat or cam buckle

I built my own one stick and decided to take one of the DIY Amsteel daisy chains from my helium's and I just use the daisy chain to one stick with. I do not get the stick real tight to the tree when climbing(as mentioned above). Once I'm at hunting height with my stick and one of the openings in...

    Wearing a belt

What type are you using? Clip on? Would the metal clips dig in?

    Wearing a belt

Ok I'd like to get some opinions from y'all. I'm hanging in the saddle this morning and I can feel my belt on my pants digging into me. Granted it's a homemade paracord belt, it's rather knobby and stiff. My question is, is it just me and my saddle placement or has this pants belt problem found...

    Figure of 8 progress capture???

This is exactly the way I get back up if I need to come down in a hurry. This way I can leave my single stick up the tree with all my gear, this way I can easily get back up. This was the video I found and learned this technique to ascend.

What does your 2021 system look like?

So far I ain't looking back, I use it with the figure 8 and can't be happier. No need for all the fancy mechanical devices. I can use the figure 8 to get down and I can add the schwabisch hitch, carabiner with a loop to go back up. No problems gripping and my autoblock bites nice to make the...

What does your 2021 system look like?

Well like I said things are going to change through out the season. I now have 2 systems that I alternate between (thus far)! Trophyline Ambush Pro is my go to saddle but I have my hands on a Covert lite that I'm testing this season. My first set up is the cut down Hawk Helium's single Amsteel...

    New Saddle Hunter in Michigan

Welcome form North Carolina. Good luck this year! There are plenty of helpful people in here.

How many people actually use a bino chest rig?

I use an Alaska Guide Series, the hybrid model. I hunt from a trophyline ambush pro saddle. For me the AGS doesn't get in the way hanging, shooting or climbing with sticks. The only issue I have found with the harness is when single sticking. As I hang down to grab the stick to move it, my...

    One sticking

I started out the summer practicing the one stick method on a cut down hawk helium single Amsteel aider with a DIY Amsteel daisy chain on hawk button. Like stated above a cam cleat is not absolutely necessary. The button may have a little fiddle factor but once you have the method down it's no...

    1st time single sticking

This is my first year single sticking. I love it so far. I'll get better and faster the more I do it. I should be an pro by the end of the year! Good luck to you and maybe a longer stick would work better for you, won't know till you try it.
