    Duffle bags

The unplug easy outdoor adventure dry bag/duffel is a wonderful piece of gear. I have the 155L and I freaking love it. I also have a north face base camp duffel bag. Also a wonderful piece of gear in a more manageable size. Both bags are bombproof. I would have no problem strapping the...

    PSA. Costco

I have a pair of the orvis fleece lined pants from Costco, they’re nice. Smoking deal. Edit: I have Gerry fleece lined pants from Costco, not orvis. I have a few of the orvis unlined pants, those are nice too!

    bridge - Rope vs Amsteel

I’ve looked and I’ve looked, and I cannot find in writing what I’m referencing. So I guess the only thing to do would be to say that I was wrong and can’t prove what I said. If you look at Samson’s rope guide. It does state that “when a rope is deflected more than 10 degrees around a surface...

    bridge - Rope vs Amsteel

Black is not okay. Guess the wording can be confusing. Now I’m going to have to dig out the paperwork and check to make sure I’m not talking out of my butt. Edit: it appears as though I was indeed talking out of my butt.

    bridge - Rope vs Amsteel

Rope. 100%. Amsteel is not to be used at more than a 45 degree angle. It says it on the paperwork that comes with it. Edit: I cannot find in the paperwork what I was referring to. I’m going to leave my original comment here and just say I was wrong.

Are you willing to share how you learned this?

What did you learn this hunting season?

Sign isn’t the end all be all that it is hyped up to be. I hunted a spot that held five scrapes all within a 50 yard circle. I saw lots of deer and some legal bucks, no shooters. few days later I see a hot doe in an area I had wanted to check out during the rut. Hung in a tree right next to...

    Best Lighted nock?

Nokturnal for me. Wouldn’t hunt without them. I practice with them too. I put them on my Christmas list every year. Once they go through a deer they go in the practice or woodchuck arrow pile.

    Flipped canoe/kayak

Sounds sketchy. I’ve done a cold water overnight trip every year for the last ten years. The most important prep I’ve learned in the last ten years of doing that trip is to have a dry bag that you have proven is waterproof, filled with a change of clothes. Every year I pack my fall in bag...

    AITA/negative encounter.

Good time to resurrect this thread. Negative encounter with same neighbor #2. Two years later. Same neighbor, same property. This property is basically a ridge point with two huntable sides, the north side and the east side. Last encounter with this neighbor was on the east side. Right now I’m...

Do you know these two? Shawnee State Forest

There are some shawnee state park Facebook groups out there. May be worth making a Facebook account to post it. Facebook is huge, those dbags can get spread pretty far on Facebook.

Hunting Trip Recap: Pa Big Woods

As another northern pa native, good for you. That’s a win any day. A shooter buck in bow range is an accomplishment, especially your first time into an area while in the big woods.

    Platform + ROS

I use steps with a predator platform. But I use a different strap for the steps. Takes a minute longer, but it makes the platform and steps rock solid. I don’t feel right without both steps and the platform together.

    Singer 31-15 vs 15-91 URGENT

No experience with the 31-15, but I have a 15-91 recommended by someone on here. Works great so far. Sews through whatever I ask it to.

    Headlamp recommendations

The black diamond spot has what I consider to be the best user interface. It’s not rechargeable, it’s the not the fanciest, it’s not the most expensive. But I’ve used a lot of headlamps over the years, and the way the buttons work on the spot makes me happy.
