    Hawk 30” stick mod

I carry them horizontal with my wingman attached with a Titan strap. I use the Chipewa Stands over the shoulder stick carrier. It works for me but Im really likin the Skeletors and they strap nice to my pack. Without a doubt 20,s are easier, but I dont mind the 30.s

I also like the 30 in Hawk sticks with EWO cable aiders and with 3 sticks I get 15 ft.. I just got a set of Skeletors and really like them also but I like having several climbing systems.

What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

Took my Fathers Day gift for a workout. Love the dyna loc attachment system and angled steps work good for me with 3 step and single step aiders. Got up to 19 ft with that combo.

    Lord have mercy on me!

You have to do what you have to do to learn. Be safe, Im sure alot of guys on here taught themselves to repel.

    Lord have mercy on me!

IMO your starting with good equipment.I like my Cruzr XC as much as my more expensive saddles. Repelling down is best learned with personnel help but can be learned on your own with videos. Start low.

Climbing Pines w/ Tree Step or bolts.

3 times I had them pull out descending on pines, they were screwed in straight not angled .The last time I ended up on my back luckily from only about 6 ft up. I changed to Ameristep and never again had one pull out reguardless of angle. That was 30 yrs ago.

Climbing Pines w/ Tree Step or bolts.

The articulating Cranford steps are more suited to hardwood. The Ameristep one piece steps are more suited to Pines and other softwood. Ive never had an Ameristep pull out of Pine or other softwood.Cranford does make a solid Ezy climb step, similiar to the Ameristep that works on softwood.

I have the Lonestar cordura XPD and dont find it noticeably more comfortable than my XC. Havent tried the stretch but it seems most prefer it. New saddle hunter, why not the Cruzr xc?

I really like the XC and as others have said it has a few cons minor in my opinion.I also have a Lonestar with a pleat and I like it but its not noticably more comfortable than the XC. If I buy another saddle it will be the Orion which addresses the pleat.
