    2024 Turkey Thread

I have a dryad mini so all I would need is a belt on to carry it in on and my tether, not even a need for leg straps. I can’t see it being limiting enough to make carrying a chair in worth my time and effort for a quick seat. I will still have my turkey vest to carry my decoys with seat for a...

    2024 Turkey Thread

I had thought if I used my bow for turkey and just used my saddle with my feet on the ground I could make it work for a long sit for turkey. Just need to be high enough in some areas to be shooting above the field edge brush and grass about 2-3 high. Seems like a simple and lightweight option vs...

    2024 Turkey Thread

The one I would be using is an Italian made F.lli Pietta Gussago SxS cap. Being a big flintlock guy I have been looking for a Fowler, but @Red Beard convinced me not to spend any money this year on guns and my wife is holding me too it. Maybe next year if I find one I like.

    2024 Turkey Thread

Still a few weeks out before I can go after them but I ran across him with 8 hens the other day below my house. This year, numbers in my area seem to be up. I am thinking about taking my black powder shotgun out after one this year. I would be smitten if I ran into this guy

    Hunting trad bow poundage?

I have two bows, both have two sets of limbs. One recurve has 38lb and 47lbs, the other is a long bow 45lbs and 60 lbs. I hunt with the 60 lb and plan to shoot most of the summer with the 45lbs this year after I tore a muscle last year in my forearm. The 38/47lb recurve I have up for sale.

    Team 10

All finished here. This was a short season for me being tied up with some health issues and family obligations. I should have taken some more opportunities early season. I think we had some solid numbers as a team. Nothing to look down on for sure.

    Tab, glove or other

I shoot gloves and a heavier bow. Because I had issues with fingers going numb, I used to shoot a glove with nylon on the outside and liked it except that the nylon side irritated my cheek at my anchor so I switched to a buffalo crossover glove this year. I would say my shooting is the same...

    Fletching other than Turkey?

They are some of the softest feathers I have felt. They don’t smell unless they were just in something rotten and even at that, the feathers you want don’t usual have that smell on them anyway.
