Starting in 2020 only SH Members will be admitted to the annual hunting contest. Current members will need to follow these steps to upgrade: 1. Click on your username 2. Click on Account upgrades 3. I was able to sneak away for a MLK Day hunt. It was a day of many firsts, First time hunting in the snow (it stays warm down in Texas), First muzzleloader deer, First deer out of the Sam Houston National Forest (heavily pressured public just north of Houston). So 5 more points for Team 6... -

Today was most likely my last day of archery season and I too bet tomorrow is the day. I sat 6 hours this morning in absolutely brutal conditions by Texas standards. 42 degrees, blowing 20+ out of the north, and patchy rain. I only caught a glimpse of a deer running at 300 yards. I took my first spike today! This one means a lot with a 4 week old baby, a busted hot water heater last week and a leaking pipe at the house!!! It was a 12 yard shot from the saddle on a strap on stand. He was down in 15 seconds and didn’t got 35 yards. An easy double lung & top of the heart...
