    2tc vs one sticking

There isn’t really anything to buy for 2TC so it doesn’t get any publicity. Probably most overlooked climbing method

Who uses a ring of steps?

I like to set a half ring on the opposite side of my platform a little higher then the platform. Doesn’t really accomplish shedding weight but I 2tc so my overall weight isn’t an issue

    2TC Tree Selection

I would climb it 2tc. The best thing is to practice with it so if you can get to that tree in the off season give it a shot after getting good on straight trees. The other nice thing about 2TC is you probably already have all the gear needed absent a foot loop. You can make your own or...

One stick vs 2TC vs Wild Edge

My only experience is 2TC. It takes me about 8 minutes to climb the tree and set my platform and ring of steps. It is very quiet and once you are proficient at it very easy. There is a learning curve like anything else. My first few attempts were horrible. Prior to my first season with 2TC...

    2TC guys… rappel or not?

Rappell down all the time. I use a different tether for climbing and the actual hunt

Hunted on a ROS for the first time...

There is a learning curve with 2TC, my first few attempts were complete failures. If you like it give it another try. To me it is the safest way to climb. I did 2TC down once because I couldn’t find my pull down cord for my rappell line, good skill to have but a bit of a hassle and not as fun...

    No stick climbing

great video, I 2TC all last season but I think I am going to have to try this as well

    2TCers, who use platform?

I use a platform but typically put four squirrel steps around that back a few inches above the platform

    retrieval rope- dynaglide or amsteel?

I use the dyna glide for retrieval, no stretch but you need to wrap it around stick or flashlight or you can lose a finger

    Practice now

Smart to practice off season. Last year I decided I wanted to try 2TC and rappel, first few times trying the 2TC were complete failures. Re watched some videos and reread some things here and realized what I was doing wrong. I don't have any suitable tress at my house but I go camping at state...

Minimum tree (or branch) size for a platform

I have been in trees that are not much bigger then a really large grapefruit if the conditions were right and that is all I had. I carry a ring of steps and platform so I would just use the ring in that situation. I have had platform on some small trees with no issue

    Rappel rope questions

I used the 9mm canyon elite this past season for rappell line, purchased from ewo and thought it was perfect. Had him put the little loop on the bottom which is good for lowering my pack. I lower my weapon with pull down cord which is dynaglide. I had no issues with madrock safeguard but...

Kong Duck vs CT Roll N Lock?

I use the CT roll n lock with oplux lines, I thought I had read that it was the better choice for the oplux but I could be mistaken. Have no experience with the Kong duck but have had no issues with the roll n lock.

Hunted on a ROS for the first time...

Cool, I switched 2TC this past season and loved it. Practiced all off season. There was one hunt where I brought my sticks because I wanted to do a time comparison, wasn't noticeably faster and didn't feel as safe. Although on that particular day I was able to tag a really nice 8pt but had...

Hunted on a ROS for the first time...

I like the ros but only use them in conjunction with the platform. Gives the ability to get 360 around the tree but am still able to stand feet on platform just to change posistion or if I have to take a leak

Going super light with 1 stick

There is a little learning curve with 2TC my first few attempts were complete failures but after the a few more times I got the hang of it and probably had about 50 climbs this past season with no issues. I carry a small amsteel daisy chain to hold in place with when passing limbs. I never...

    Terhrd phantom rappelling

I rappell down and 2TC to climb. I really can’t see how rappelling down causes anymore wear to your bridge. I don’t use my rappell line to climb but always transfer over to it before dark on afternoon hunt so I am not making the transfer in the dark. I always put some tension on it before...

    Rappelling Question

I find the rope position does matter to an extent. Do you shorten your bridge for your descent? That and going slow give you more control.

    2 Tether 2 step?

I do 2TC but I use a pretty snug foot loop, I don't want to be fishing around for one with my foot since I wear rubber boots it makes it a little more difficult to get foot in a loop. 2TC is not the fastest way to climb but I feel pretty safe with it. There is a videoo in the library of someone...

    treehopper 12l climbing treestand platform

To me it doesn’t look any different then using bottom portion of a climber especially at the 11# weight. You could use it for saddle hunting but I would be cautious about it shifting if stepping off to one side.
