    STERLING C-IV at OpticsPlanet

That looks like a great deal! I'm looking to buy some rope for trying out rope climbing. Has anyone used this for SRT or DRT?

Thanks. This is exactly the sort of information I was looking for.

    Rope climbing questions

Thanks for the answers to my previous questions. As I've looked at the trees in the woods where I hunt and envisioned how I would climb these trees with ropes, I came up with a few more questions. Are there any rules of thumb for when a branch will make a suitable crotch for rope climbing? On...

    Rope climbing questions

I understand that bolts or screw in steps would be even easier, but I don't have permission to drill into the trees on the land I'm hunting so that's why I'm looking in to rope climbing.

    Rope climbing questions

I've been looking into trying rope climbing for next year. I hunt private very close to my house, so carrying my climbing sticks out to my hunting spots isn't a big deal. However, I don't have that much time to hunt (often just a couple of hours) and I get a bit annoyed at the amount of time I...

    DIY Archery Target

I also enjoy the DIY process in and of itself, but for me the biggest benefit to making a DIY target is that I can (affordably) make a much bigger target. My current target is 3 ft x 3ft. I hate ruining arrows, so I usually shoot each arrow at a different dot. With this target I have 9 dots to...

    Re-Fletching with a Bitz

I mark my nocks and shaft with a sharpie after I have nock tuned them and before I fletched them for the first time, so that makes it easy for me to have my arrow in the jig in the same orientation (or at least close enough for me) if one vane comes off.

    LIVE from the saddle 2023

I love watching this thread, so I'm finally joining in and posting. Haven't been out much since I got a buck and doe with my bow in early November. Found some time to do my first (and probably only) muzzleloader hunt of the year this afternoon. I'm trying out a new spot in the only small piece...

Most deer harvested in one day?

I've doubled up two different times, once with a shotgun and once with a bow. With the shotgun I shot the first deer and the second one was confused and didn't run away so she got shot too. My double with the bow was this year. I shot a doe but wasn't sure about the shot, so I stayed up in my...

    Never give up, keep flinging

Easy to keep at it. Not how you drew it up, but you got yourself a nice buck. I love the picture of your baby in the background too!

    Epic double

I have access to a narrow strip (about 80 yards wide) of woods across the road from my house that connects to a much bigger piece of woods. I only have permission to hunt the narrow strip, but the deer travel this during the rut. The wind was forecast to come from the East, so I climbed a tree...

    DIY Archery Target

I made a 3ft x 3ft x 1 ft frame and stuffed it with the insides of two old bag targets I shot to pieces and some additional fabric and foam pieces I had laying around. I was going to buy the front and back material from Third Hand Archery, but then I ran across and old post on here that...
