    Beast stand - part2

The noise imo was caused by a combination of how deeply the beast bracket bit into the tree and the high amount of flex in the stand which caused the bracket to shift around whilst embedded deeply in the tree. I replaced the beast bracket with a lone wolf bat wing on my old style beast stand...

    2024 Gear thread

Another look at these. I think the tethrd ones still have them beat tbh. Except maybe in the durability department…

2 Tether Climbing Method the best?

If you plan on hunting out of telephone pole type of trees I think it will be a good option for you. But if you need to be able to hunt out of a wide variety of trees it may not be the best option. People tend to hype up things that work well on ideal trees but may not work so well on others.

For those of you that just find using climbing sticks to easy.

    2024 Gear thread

That might be the craziest thing I’ve seen on a gear thread yet. I love how they have 999 crossed out like their really giving you a deal at 899.

Oklahoma bill looks to DOUBLE non-resident cost

There is the olap program as well, though I haven’t been on an olap property yet. Most of it is in western Oklahoma and I’m in the north east.

Oklahoma bill looks to DOUBLE non-resident cost

Seems like your main problem is a lack of opportunity in your own state. Texas always seemed like a big waste to me because it’s so frigging big but has such a pathetic amount of public land. It’s also amusing that you want to raise the price of Texas tags for okies when there’s no where for us...

Oklahoma bill looks to DOUBLE non-resident cost

We okies don’t want to hunt Texas anyway we all want to hunt Kansas haha.

    Trophyline Hyperlite Series!!!

The teeth on the beast stand bracket would dig in really deep like that which was what made it so noisy imo.

    Backpack ventilation

I actually prefer the feeling of a stand to that of a backpack. Don’t prefer much else about a stand though. Packing my platform that way worked great for me and I found it to be more comfortable that way. But to each their own of course.

    Backpack ventilation

Put your platform there instead, I packed mine that way all season.

    Trophyline Hyperlite Series!!!

I’m not a fan of the v shaped type of standoffs the hyperlite sticks have vs standoffs that have multiple points of contact like the one sticks or the beast sticks.

    ROS storage\attachment

I keep mine in my pack and clip them to my pocket when I’m climbing. Use shock cord to keep them wrapped up.

    Movement

That’s exactly what I did as well. Although I also covered them in duck tape because the bark was slowly damaging them. I’ll hang hang my back pack in front of me at knee level if I want even more padding.

    What’s on this deers neck?

I have no idea but the first one has something weird on her forehead too.

    2024 Ground Breaking New Platform...

I used one for a while and they definitely squeak as you said. I removed the serrated teeth things from the posts which helped. Then I wrapped a bunch of duct tape around the posts to try and prevent that dang rubbing noise. I eventually just got a different platform.

Shot a mallard-pintail hybrid today, thought it looked pretty cool.

I always pluck them but I’ve never used wax. I do use a propane torch after plucking to burn away any down left.

    What's everyone's favorite big platform?

I’ve used the rr xl all season and don’t plan on changing. I shot a doe from it tonight, I was standing sideways on it when I shot. I typically wear size 13 boots. I prefer the post on the rr over the typical type of post like on the predator ect.

    Weak side shots

I seriously just spooked a nice buck whilst moving around the tree. Should have turned around on the platform… dang it.
