    tether question

I use a figure 8 on a bite for my tether and just feed the whole thing through it. It is recommended you use a delta by many, but I use a smaller sized rated carabiner on my rappel line. When I’m getting ready to rappel, it’s time to go and the little autolocking carabiner is quick and easy……it...

    Ascending options for one sticking?

I got the GriGri+ for SRT and thought about using that and my rappel rope to 1 stick. But dang that GG+ is huge! It’s not as noticeable climbing the rope SRT, but moving a tether up a tree is totally different.

    Ascending options for one sticking?

lots of folks going with hitches, but I’m back to using a ropeman And a separate tether. Switching over to the ATC and rappel rope isn’t a big deal, but it is a process that requires a few steps to switch over. I leave a simple prussik on my rappel rope that I just clip into the left linesman’s...

    Preset with no crotch….help please.

Paracord is stronger than some may think. I also use 650 over 550. My strap is surely overkill

what dump pouches you guys using??

I’ve also used a cheap Amazon pouch that had mesh side pockets and another big pocket on the outside. I wore it out and replaced with the fleece. It was very functional holding my ATC/biner, my gear strap with hooks, pull down cord, back band and an xtra biner. FWIW-I have a pouch on Each side...

what dump pouches you guys using??

I’ve used a roll up pouch which was great, but currently using a vertical dump pouch(cheap Amazon item) that holds my 40’ of rope. I love the fleece pouch from EWO, but wish it had a pocket or two for biners or hitch cords etc……maybe a larger size too?

    Rappelling kits

I use an ATC with a prussik below it to work like the break hand. It lets me just let go and I stay put. I’m using the Gri Gri+ and an ascender for my SRT……just started that, and I like it!!

What kind of rope is everyone going with?

Can’t go wrong with either canyon ropes. The C-IV IS stiffer, but the elite, feels really good in your hands and is a pleasure to tie Knots with….youll love it! I think my favorite is probably resctech ffor rappeling, but using the C-IV with my SRT setup. I’m new to this so I haven’t used a lot...

    Cruzr XC vs Buzzard roost?

Opposite of this^^^ I love my buzzard roost, but it’s my first two panel and adjustable bridge. Built like a tank as they say and very comfy. I really like the leg straps which I use too.

    Need suggestions for blind chair

You gonna love that blind. I have a heavy swivel chair and it’s nice, but heavy…..very heavy and stays in the blind if I set it up.

One sticking with single wire aider over multiple step aider

I too dislike more than a single step aider. I do like my full size helium 1 stick so I have 4 steps each move. 2 moves is usually enough, but a third and i have only a little bit of rappel rope touching the ground and feel like I’m way up there!

    Ropeman 4

This is what I do.…I have a prussik below just like a brake hand for hands free working. Just make sure your prussik stays well below the ATC so it cannot enter it……..I used a long prussik once and had to retie it at height. I have since left the correct prussik on the line to prevent my...

Does anyone one stick from a preset?

I’ve been 1 sticking for the last few years, just beginning SRT. Another vote for just climb the rope. It more fun and will be easier once you get the hang of it. I’m on Public land too and am leaving paracord presets. Keep in mind when you go up a single rope, gravity will decide which side of...

    Best budget crossbow?

We are talking budget right? Well here ya go! This^^^^^ for sure! I have a Karnage Apocalypse (bear) and it was a whopping $250 RTH about 5 years ago. It’s like any crossbow designed like this one above.……kinda heavy, bulky, scope is avg at best, shoots great, hits hard easy to 50 yards, Must...

Would you trust 1/8 Amsteel to hang your platform or stand?

i just put 50’ of 1/8” Samson amsteel in my cart on Amazon……it’s $53 I love playing with amsteel and will replace and add as I go. I WAS UNAWARE but according to the listing, 1/8” is 12 strands and the 7/64” is only 8 strands…….just wanted to throw that out there

    tethrd predator level screw

I keep thinking I wanna try an amsteel daisy with a Whoopi sling or truckers hitch. No doubt it would be great, but I have a monkey bar(ROS) on each side. I use an OCB and it’s mega tight, also too tight to cam over if you cinch it too tight beforehand. Not sure how I’d have to thread my steps...

    Surviving Target Bucks

I have no target bucks persay, but I did see a good one with only a week left of extended archery. I know where I’ll play most of next season. It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about the next season. It’s public land but pretty tough to access so I like the chances of seeing him again.

    Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Woodboogers....?!

Only 3 things I can add are 1) my friend heard a howl one morning while we were heading out on the North end of Pinelog WMA. It was a cold and frosty morning so I already had my ear muffs on and didn’t hear it. It freaked him out a little and he is still upset I didn’t hear it…..lol 2) Walking...
