Final attempt at a DIY pleated saddle

This is exactly what I want to make over the winter. Do you have any measurements you’d want to share with me ?

Not sure how accessible the pictures are on Flickr so here are some properly formatted pics to add to the thread.

    Email preferences on SH...

I want to get reply notifications but I don’t need an e-mail every time. I’m logged on here constantly and I look at it a lot. Can anyone tell me how to turn off the email notification ? I thought I got it in preferences but I’m still getting emails. Thx

    Who has the best wife?

Mine is too. My boys are 7 and 4, and my little girl is 16months. I could probably get away with more hunts but I don’t want to push it. She works very hard and I don’t want to take advantage. She also likes venison, and she pushed me to start hunting in the first place. Little did she know she...

    Who has the best wife?

Once my kids are older, this is likely to be my situation. Honey I’m off to hunt for a week in ___. Wife: peace out ✌️ Bring back venison.

    Who has the best wife?

I wagered it wasn’t. But I wasn’t gonna be the first to comment on that spectacular crystal meth grille.

    Who has the best wife?

Not sure what it would cost, have you looked into selling any of her stuff to cover it ?

Looking for opinions on a platform attachment

I’d want something to stay put, I like to hang some of the time.

    Who has the best wife?

You did mention she could have a boyfriend as long as he was loaded. I don’t recall you mentioning competence being a requirement

So kind of like camming over a hang on? The seat doesn’t contact the tree, but that would still tension the strap I would imagine

Looking for opinions on a platform attachment

This is a Frankenstein platform. Muddy hang on seat, muddy standoffs from an aerolite stick, and the post is from a muddy tree seat. And yes the warning labels all say use at ground level.

If I put a versa button on where I am pointing and another versa button down low, do you think this will hold it still or is the placement of the top button going to cause it to roll out ?

    Lone wolf versa button...

Does anyone know or can tell me the specs for the lone wolf versa button as far as the width from the inside of the button to the stick face ?

    Repelling questions

I could see that. If there was some sort of *actually* controlled feed for the slack side as you went down maybe that would work but, we’re not riggers. 20-30 feet, just let the rope hang.

    Repelling questions

Absolutely. Mine is in a dump pouch, and I have visions of somehow hanging myself if I were going down quickly and the rope got all crazy hanging right next to me
