Lifeguard vs the safeguard. Set the record straight

I have the Grigri (GG) and the Safeguard (SG), they are both safe when used correctly. I like the GG for it's smoothness on rappel and the SG for it's small size. I used the autoblock with the GG and have found that if a big ol buck approaches from the offside and I need to reposition for a shot...

New saddle hunter, why not the Cruzr xc?

New saddle hunter here, one season, bought the Trophyline, XOP; sent the XOP back immediately. Liked the Trophyline, tried the XC after the reviews on here and to support local manufacturer (made in TN, since Bama owns TN). Sold the Trophyline, best analogy the XC felt like prewashed denim...

    Budget-friendly saddle pack

XOP Striker $70 from Midway. Seems like it was built for saddle hunting IMO.

    Ar build

Love the 458, just doesn't fit 200-250 yd. It is however an absolute beast in the thick stuff. Biggest turn off for most would be ammo cost and availability, never saw a box at the local Wally world.

    Reloading

It is a great hobby that will lead to serious addiction if not careful. I started 30 years ago with a Lee Handloader and now have enough equipment and supplies that I could retire in the Maldives from the proceeds. Make friends with the guys at your local range that have the blue plastic boxes...

One Sticking without a Madrock Safeguard

I run a Michoacan on my rappel/tether and connect a figure 8 descender under it to rappel. The mich holds and breaks easy. Use a single lock wrap on the figure 8 to collect the stick. You have to play with the length on the mich to get it right in relation to the figure 8, but I use a mini 8 and...

    Rope question.

Glad to see another hunter with America's Rifle hanging on a tree. Saddle hunting with that rifle seems natural, 34 years Infantry also helps.

    Gear straps and hangers

It fits my Hoyt Torrex limbs just fine, but I'm using a loop of amsteel girth hitched to the riser to hang. The whole thing wraps up and fits easily in my cargo pocket, a little bigger than the palm of my hand. I keep it in my left hip pouch with my linemans rope and it is the first thing that...

    Gear straps and hangers

Innovating the Outdoors 3 d printed bow and gear hanger. I replaced the 3d attachment point with cam jam just because I like it better. Super light and cord is amsteel for $25 and free shipping. They also make the excellent tether locker and prusik tenders.

DIYish or just spring for the Ult. One Stick?

Newbie here, started with the Hawk special. Hawk minis and Hawk lock on 20+ lbs. Couldn't get higher than 12 ft. Had to be the right tree. Decided to try the saddle, tried the Trophyline Covert lite settled on the Cruzer XC (much better IMO, made in Merica too). Used the minis with aiders got up...
