Any Great Camera Pics…. Deer do look up!

Missed an appointment with this raghorn. He came through in the middle of a very hot day.

Ascending tree on a figure eight

Yeah I'm on to that. Still not quite as easy as that tug, snap on an eight but we're talking seconds so big deal right?

Ascending tree on a figure eight

I bought a figure eight but never plan to use it. A munter on a pear shaped biner does the same except for the easy soft lock you can throw on a figure eight. Another piece of gear I don't have to pack.

What is your best deer recipe - not fried

While you're field dressing your deer you or a buddy start a fire and cube up some tenderloin. Skewer on a stick. Place near fire and turn occasionally while finishing up. Sprinkle with some of the season salt you wisely carry in your pack. Take a break and enjoy tendies on a stick.

    Quick link keeper

Pretty new to this but I tried a couple options and these alligator or bulldog clips work the best for me. Easy one hand operation to place under the quick link or onto the loop.

    PVC quiver

I use a motorbike to get to a lot of spots and I got tired of having my fletching get ruined or wet so I made this PVC quiver. Pretty simple to make so I won't detail the process just make sure to use thin wall PVC and scavenge out a lot of the material with a 5/8 or so drill bit in some sort...

All my doubts put to rest.

At 65 I wondered if maybe I was a little too old to get into saddle hunting. I also wondered how comfortable could it be hanging from a rope for hours on end. I wondered if this could be as comfortable as sitting in a tree stand. Did my first long sit yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I...

    Lithium Batteries in Trail Cams

I will never use lithium batteries again. I had five long soak cam setups crap out when one battery failed.

Someone posted a 1in. OCB bow strap and now I cant find it

They recommended the strap from Amazon possibly as a ROS strap. Dammed if I can find the post. It was about three weeks ago.

I think it was an over center boat strap with one hook and two loops?

Funny I've never had a problem cranking sharp steps in or out but you had me at cheap :)

    Please explain bolts?

I know there is a 50 page thread and I got part way through but still am in the dark. How is a bolt that requires a drill to place preferable to a sharp ameristep tree step that I can just crank in by hand in about 8 turns. Do the bolts also need a socket head or wrench to place and remove...

    K.I.S.S.

I have tried them and they all seem to do the same thing, provide friction. I've tried to see if one is more aggressive or one releases better but I keep getting back to prusik for bombproof lock with a loop and schwabisch for double ended.

    K.I.S.S.

Again, keeping this in track. I'm just talking about friction hitches not tree attachments. So samcirrus for you the answer is yes? The jrb ascender and the mich?

    K.I.S.S.

You got in above me while I was typing. I have learned numerous hitches but going back to KISS let me rephrase the question. Are two friction hitches enough to saddle hunt and if so what are they.
