It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

I’ve only gotten 5-10 hunts in mine this season and am still learning but have started tweaking a little already. The properties I’m hunting have a one hour before sunrise access rule, our shooting light is 30 minutes before sunrise, with 15-20 minutes walk from the parking area to hunt zone on...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

So I didn’t hunt those exact trees but I did end up in leaning Willows all of last weekend. Using the JX3 I was in decent shape with offsetting my tether and shifting my weight away from the pull. I spent most of the time sitting primarily on one hip. I would slide forward on the seat until it...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

I actually have a JX3, are you sitting on the high side?

This is the best red headlamp I have ever found. The red is actually usable for navigation and not just reading a map. 77outdoor LED Rechargeable Red Headlamp, D25LR Powerful Lightweight Head Flashlight with 90 High CRI Bright White Light and 660nm Deep Red Light, USB Charging for Camping...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

I just ordered a sit drag and the Hawk any angle seat to give me some elevated ground options. I hunted similar property last year using a turkey lounger and all of the underbrush wrecked havoc on shooting lanes. There are some trees back to the west that are more suitable but the signs are...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

Sticks, public land so no damaging the trees.

    Leaning Tree Set Up

Yes it is. One shot looking to the north and one shot looking to the west. The trees are leaning to the north.

    Leaning Tree Set Up

I marked a couple other spots on the property for ground blinds because there wasn’t a suitable tree to be found.

    Leaning Tree Set Up

I scouted today and found an abundance of sign but very few straight trees. These trees were over looking a trail and watering junction and are very representative of what I would be dealing with. As a new saddle hunter my questions are: 1. Would you set up in these trees? 2. If so how would...

It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

First disclaimer is I am new to all of this and still on a steep learning curve; this will be my first season to hunt out of a saddle. I have not noticed any problems with the pouches getting in my way. My current process is: get to tree and put up first stick, open up roll pouch and hook up my...

    Saddle Rotating in the Tree

I am setting my tether as high as I can get it (chest to tree as stretching high).

It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

I’m getting my tether about as high as possible, I’ll try playing with the shoulder straps. I plan to take them off to hunt but usually forget to during my practice climbs and keep them on.

Do you have any pics of your tether setup?

Thanks I’ve tried to get the seat level after seeing it mentioned on here, I’ll make sure to keep paying attention to it.

It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

In practice I keep wanting to slide out the front of the seat unless I really focus on standing a little and shifting my hips to the very back of the chair. Once I shift my butt to the back I’m good to go for the sit. Is this normal or do I have something a little off with my setup?

    Saddle Rotating in the Tree

All right guys I’ve been practicing climbing for a few weeks now in the same tree and keep having a problem with wanting to swing to my right side. I played around with moving the tether some left and right tonight but it didn’t seem to help any. I’m using a JX3 if that matters. I took a few...

It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

I think I am set up and ready to go for October. I have a half dozen practice climbs and a 5+ mile hike in with this set up. It’s been over a 100 degrees here the last couple weeks so once that breaks I’ll get to climbing again I have a Condor Gen 2 battle belt, on the belt I’m running an...

    Cord question

@MADhunts recently posted his Safeguard backup video but was taking it to a secondary bridge instead clipping it to the carabiner as you showed. I’m new to this and was curious the pros and cons of using the secondary bridge versus just the carabiner? The carabiner looks like a simpler setup...

It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

How’s everyone packing 20” sticks? I have mini Beast sticks and started playing around with packing tonight. First try was over the fork between the seat and the back like they show for the Muddy Pro here Inhttps://jx3outdoors.com/blog/climbing-stick-attachment-methods-for-the-jx3-hybrid/
