    I love the saddle, but...

I had the same problem as you and quit saddle hunting for a while. Then I remembered back in the early 2000s when I originally started, I was more comfortable. After thinking about it, I was using a ring of steps at the time. To me if you have any pain a ring of steps is the best way to saddle...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

I will sit on both sides depending on what they need is. If I sit on the high side I have two steps on a strap. I will set the steps 2 to 3 inches higher than the top of my stick on the high side. That way when you go around you have leverage so it doesn’t throw you down as bad. Still not...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

This is where the JX3 Hybrid works very well. You climb up and sit down with the weight on the fork. You can still sit in comfort in those trees.

    Sitter knee comfort

Another vote for the JX3 hybrid. Problem solved

Setup breakdown in new growth pines.

I hunt places like that. In my opinion a regular saddle unless you are a leaner is tough to hunt that type of tree. You can’t get your knees on something that small. This is where my JX3 comes in handy. The fork holds you on the tree and you can sit steady and comfortable.

    Platform hanging idea

I’m sure this has been talked about before but I’m going to post it for new guys trying to figure out their system. I have hunted off and on in a saddle since 2006. I started with the old trophy lines from back in the day. Anyway, I see lots of guys hanging their platform on the back of their...

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

I bought a second JX3 Hybrid, another Cruzr XC saddle, and a trophy line mission platform. Also, I bought a Mathews switchback XT and changed the wheel, cam, and limbs on the bow. Pretty much a new bow, and it shoots like a dream.

Trying a saddle one more time

Good to hear. I like the idea of Saddle hunting but could not get comfortable. Then I got to thinking, I did everything minimalist. I think if I have a big platform to stand on I will be OK.

Trying a saddle one more time

That’s great. Thanks for the reply. That’s what I’m hoping I will be able to do. My last platform was too small to do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Trying a saddle one more time

That’s what I was looking for. I went minimalist in the past, so I’m hoping this time will be the last. I can usually sit for about two hours comfortably and then I need to stand up. On the small platforms I still had to lean. I would like to be able to put slack in my line and face the other...

Thanks for the advice, but I already bought a mission. I still like the cast aluminum stuff from Novix – trophy line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Trying a saddle one more time

I own two JX3 Hybrid’s and love them. For short hunts I would rather have something a little smaller. Not interested in anything in Lone Wolf custom gear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Trying a saddle one more time

I’ve been saddle hunting on and off since 2006. Believe me I have owned a ton of them. Every time I end up selling because my knees and feet hurt. This time I bought the saddle that I like the best (Cruzr XC) and bought the Trophyline Mission platform. I think I end up getting out of it because...

Bear THP Adapt vs. older Mathews vs. BowTech RPM 360

I have a brand new Hoyt Torrex XT, a Mathews HTR that I love and a new to me Mathews Switchback XT. I bought the Switchback at a good price and put new limbs and a wheel and cam on it. I love this old bow so much it will probably get more hunting time than my new bows. Go old and work on them...
