College, Car, and Home Costs for Our Kids

Good on you for thinking ahead and wanting what’s best for your little girl, I too have a little girl that I’m trying to prepare and protect from this big world that awaits her. However, one piece of advice I can give you is to not let this sense of urgency and fear overtake providing her with...

favorite deer jerky seasoning mix or from scratch recipe?

Found on archerytalk years ago and it’s awesome. Only way to ruin jerky is to over complicate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New baby, hunting time

My wife isn’t even asking me. Not sure if that’s good or bad. I did go to Ohio and kill a stud 4 weeks before the due date last year so I’m still living off that high and I’m probably still paying for it even if I don’t realize it lol

    New baby, hunting time

Absolutely, I’ve talked to them and they all seemed understanding and very congratulatory. I’m just going to have to be happy with a few less hunting days, make November sits count and scout like a mad man for a few years vs being gone all day.

    New baby, hunting time

I think the part that bothers me the most isn’t not getting time to hunt immediately this year as I’ve been pretty successful in and out of state over the years. It’s the possibility of it becoming the new normal and all my hard work of acquiring permission on the private farms I have dwindling...

    New baby, hunting time

She’s always been pretty awesome with the hunting. Usually one trip a year and I basically hunted every off day that I wanted to. I’m definitely not wishing time away but I think once the little one is in daycare next fall it’ll be back to the way it was somewhat. We just don’t want to stay...

    New baby, hunting time

Back in December my wife and I welcomed our first child. A beautiful healthy little girl, and she’s such a great baby. We’re very blessed. As hunting season closes in I am constantly analyzing my schedule (shift work, I’m off 14 days a month) to see when I can hunt, or if. I’m not going to go...

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

I listened to his podcast with Nathan Killen, he seems like an arrogant guy for sure. Nathan is salt of the earth though, he’s a great guy.

    Tethrd Gen3 One Sticks $299

Not sure where you heard that but it’s ridiculous. The Chinese don’t do metallurgy like we do, it simply takes more metal, less labor and less research to make what they make. Which is why it’s cheaper on top of cheap labor. I deal with it every single day with your tax money and it’s infuriating.

    Rappelling with bolts

Anyone use bolts and rappel down? I almost exclusively use bolts but I’d like the option to rappel down as well. Can you stop and grab bolts on the way down? On preset trees where I leave bolts in the tree can I pull my rappel rope down without the rope getting hopelessly stuck?
