Hunting a private lot in the midwest with minimum scouting

I've hunted IRAP property before. It will likely be between 40-100 acres. Also, just because those are the timelines designated by IRAP doesn't mean the landowner won't be hunting it between drawings. The deal with IRAP is they basically trade partial hunting rights for land and habitat...

Turkey chair, seat pad, or butt on the ground?

I prefer a chair, but don't really like carrying it around with everything else. I put this bad boy together for this year and like it a lot. Super comfortable, light, and very adjustable. Not as fast as a butt pad, but still can get set up pretty quickly. Also can be flipped around to use as...

    Skull degreasing problems

If I figure it out, I will let you know. Unfortunately, or fortunately lol, this is my last head until next year, so I won't be able to figure it out this year. Maybe I need to drop the ammonia. @gcr0003 , if you dont run into any issues with your degreasing, I'd be interested to see what your...

    Skull degreasing problems

Warm water maceration. No boiling at any point. Only used water for the maceration. I had read that ammonia was safe to use on bone for degreasing. Alternating between dawn and ammonia per change. Something about ammonia helps break down the grease for the dawn to draw out. It was on a...

    Skull degreasing problems

Hello, I've got into doing my own euro mounts. I enjoy it. I started out boiling, but now do maceration, which I much prefer. After that I degrease in a 5 gal bucket, switching between dawn dish soap and ammonia. Everything decreases well except behind the teeth. It seems to turn yellow and...

    Smoking clothes

I bought a bee smoker and tried it once. Not sure what I did wrong, but I had multiple deer stop dead in their tracks and look straight up at me. It felt like anything within hearing distance was blowing at me too. Very frustrating season for me. I have not done it again. Too afraid to try!

    EZV Sight Discussion

This is my 4th season using the EZV sight. I struggled mightily with target panic. For whatever reason, not having to concentrate on setting a single pin where I needed to hit, and instead framing the vitals has been a huge success for me. I never had issues with pins while practicing, but at...

Input needed, looking at light hang ons for all day sits

I would love to see a video of the pack in use. I found a WW for $85 on FB marketplace. I was pleasantly surprised with how solid it was on a tree. It has my full confidence. Mine needed new cables anyway, so I modded it with amsteel daisy chains and shoulder bolts. Works amazing!

    Euro mount maceration thread

I just started doing this myself in December. The 1st attempt went ok. I did it for my cousin. He pretty much had the skull cleaned off most everything except nasal passage and tissue. The skull had been sitting outside for a few weeks prior to me getting it, so everything was kind of dried...

    Loc On LLC Help

I paid $20 for mine on FB marketplace. The one I bought had the rivets removed and replaced with button cap screws and lock nuts. Doesn't make a sound. Might be a poor mans lwcg...but it sure works great for me.

    LWCG .5 vs saddle setup

Definitely. Most have the intention to primarily use the saddle while taking advantage of the platform size. Relative to the weight of the mission, your gaining quite a bit of room/options with the .5 I plan to use both equally. Because I find a saddle more comfortable, but like shooting...

    LWCG .5 vs saddle setup

I wouldn't find a RCH comfortable to sit in for periods of time. Otherwise I'd have to agree with you.

    2021 shed hunting

I was just happy to find them! Pretty cool because I just got permission on this piece 3 weeks ago. I had walked it only once before. Excited to have a target for this year already!
