    Favorite rope for ropeman 2?

I use one with Bluewater Assault line for my tether. So far, there's no damage to the Assault line sheath, but I find I have to fully disengage it to not catch any threads. The Ropeman 1 is much more forgiving on my lineman's belt with the same rope.

Best method to climb with not so good knees

I've got arthritic knees and am getting close to needing a replacement. I use an 8-pack of WE Stepps for climbing method and platform. I've tried the knaider/swaider with it but didn't find it was worth the hassle. So now I just set Stepps about 18in apart and go.

    2020 NOVA/Central Virginia meet'n PICS ARE POSTED!

I’ve seen these forecasts change day by day. I say wait until Friday and make the call then. If it’s still >50% chance of rain in the morning, we postpone. Here’s the current forecast for Broad Run from Weather dot com. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2020 NOVA/Central Virginia meet'n PICS ARE POSTED!

I'm in! The wife is looking for any excuse to get out of the house and this'll be the stop one on a day away from home. I'll bring my Mantis, Modified Sit-Drag, WE Stepps, and Hill People Gear pack collection. :) I'm looking forward to trying the Scout and hoping someone brings a TreeSuit.

Alone [don’t read this thread if you don’t want a spoiler]

I remember that episode. I don’t know why he didn’t go eat a couple pounds of fish and tell them to go away! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    in my back yard

Haha! I need to dig up the pic I took years ago of a HUGE muley buck in Colorado Springs. Suburban neighborhood near a high school. That monster was camped out across the street under a tree like he didn't have a care in the world.

The Heavy Arrow Movement is Flawed

Haven't been here much lately, but I'm happy to see this discussion. I jumped all in a couple weeks ago. Got my 250/300 spine Apollo's arriving this week. Just playing around with my current Easton Bloodline 330's last weekend told me there's something to this. Couldn't get them to bare shaft...

    WE Step Aider

Another vote for knaider here. Made my own and an aider. Ditched the aider after a couple climbs. Didn't add that much.

    What’s on under the saddle?

I've found this underpack belt to be the most comfortable belt for hiking and hunting. Just fabric and velcro. http://hillpeoplegear.com/Products/CategoryID/4/ProductID/53

    Poll: Your Favorite Camo Pattern

I like ASAT, just wish it was more available. I'm wearing my old woodland BDUs most of the time.

Am I too late to saddle up?

I started with a modified Sit Drag (I sew a bit) while I waited for Tetherd last year. It works and I have a back up in case I need it or my son wants to go. I'll second the Ropeman, especially on the linemans belt. The Ropeman1 and 2 are in stock on Amazon right now, but it looks the prices...

    Lineman Belt Safety Benefits?

I'm assuming you're considering using just the tether attached to your bridge instead of the lineman's belt in my answer. The biggest issue I see is the tether/bridge is right in front of you. When I'm attaching steps, I lean back into the lineman's belt while I'm using both hands to set the...

    My Newbie Saddle Experience

Last year was my newbie year and I can second all of that except the platform bit since I don't have one. Practice, practice, practice and get the Ropeman. I switched mid-season from Prussics to the Ropeman and it's much easier.

    Could use some advice

I'm the same as the OP - 6ft, 265ish. I use a Tethrd Mantis with the back strap and it's no problem. I've got knee problems and switch from leaning to sitting. Haven't done an all day sit, but when I get down after a few hours it's because I'm out of time not because I'm hurting.

    Ring of steps?

TNSTAAFL summed it up pretty well. I use WE stepps, but would upgrade to a platform if funds permitted. Using steps puts more pressure on your feet and I feel like I'm moving more as a result.
