    Sitter knee comfort

I found that it wasn't actually my knee touching the tree that was painful. It was the side pressure and funny angle of my knee pressing against the side of a curved tree. I use a pad around the tree. I also put pieces of radiator hose pipe, rubber hose about an inch and a half, vertically...

    Time to admit what happened...

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Got to lock down the mental game, go with the float, and pull through. Good news is I've got 8 months!

    Time to admit what happened...

I'm convinced the heavy arrow with cut on contact blade zipped right through the guts causing the buck to hardly even realize anything happened. He just kind of hunched walked 30 yds and laid back down in the bed he got out of. I think hitting a deer like that with a "twizzler flapper" would...

    Time to admit what happened...

[emoji19] Missed them all... 6 deer. Got the buck in the guts on the walk. That was different. Things moving quick. Missed 6 doe just standing there waiting to die...

    Time to admit what happened...

I did shoot with the broadheads. I switched over to using Magnus heads this year which seemed to shoot spot on with field points.

    Time to admit what happened...

Misses were high. All of them. No I did not do much practice at height. It's got to be form on the down angle. That seems obvious enough... I did do some practicing at height with targets out around 30 yards. However most of my misses were within the 15-yard range so it's probably those...

    Time to admit what happened...

Okay it's time to admit it. Been putting it off since the season ended back in December. I missed six times this year and made two really bad hits. All with my bow. I have a range set up in my basement and backyard. Most days rain or shine throughout the year I shoot. I love to shoot. I shoot...

Who Did Not Snort the Fairy Dust? And Why?

I agree! Good things to learn from both. I never would have learned how to take care of my own gear without Dudley. And I think I would have lost my biggest bow buck this year to a bad shot without the ranch fairy special that took him down. Gleen from both!

How do you backup your Mantis?

Hey all, been doing the sit drag climbing harness thing for a few years. I always liked having a backup line going from The Rock harness to the tree as well as the tether on the sitdrag. Everything doubled up. Picked up a used mantis this year and wondering how to run a similar setup. What can...

Do you carry a first aid kit? What's in it?

A step gashes your leg and you're still hanging 15 feet up in the freaking tree from a rope essentially tied around your waist...That's when the party starts :)

What will you change/improve for next year?

Shoot 'em when I see them! Season closes in 11 days and I still have tags left with no time to get out. Sitting here thinking about everything I passed early :( Got a 5-step aider for WE Steps to try instead of knaider/swader. Got a Mantis to replace diy/sitdrag. Going to start carrying a...

Do you carry a first aid kit? What's in it?

Great stuff thanks for sharing everyone! About 10 years ago I was Wilderness First Responder certified. I used to guide backpacking trips for a youth camp. Still can't believe it never occurred to me to carry a kit hunting! Definitely putting one together for next season.

Do you carry a first aid kit? What's in it?

Haha, no. But I just read a story of someone who cut themselves pretty bad with a limb saw. I never thought of having first aid kit. I don't know why? A mile from the truck, climbing trees, using knives, carrying wicked sharp broadheads...what could go wrong? Feel kinda foolish for not...
