    layering up while sitting

I use the Mantis. I just climb up and one I am tethered to the tree slide on my puffy jacket. I don't have any issue and don't have to do any tucking... insulative layers are best not compressed, so I just leave it hanging rather than tucking it in.

    Bag for Wild Edge Stepps

I have been trying to think of a way to use straps on my pack to hold the stepps... or some way of carrying them that isn't inside a bag inside my pack.

    Saddle position

I have had success with using stock bridge, with having tether about nose height (5'10) and my biner setting right at chest.

    Knee pain in saddle.

I don't even use pads... just find a good soft spot between the bark and let that spread the load to my knees. But I only sit to give a break to my feet.

Mark Kenyon says he has “Converted” to saddles.

Yeah it would be! I just got my first Stone Glacier pack, Sky Archer 6200. I even use it on the land behind my house to hunt with, leave it on and climb up the tree. But I am weirdo. Extremely happy with it. Planning to take it to Thailand and love the idea that if I want a smaller bag I can...

    Linemans rope as gear hanger....

I tried it, but it needs extra fiddling. Maybe I'll keep playing. For now I used my old hammock straps.

    MANTIS...... WHATS UP TETHRDNATION

Before I opened the package I was thinking "OH YEAH THE BUTT WARMER IS HERE!!!!" which would rule because my butt was COLD this morning... but then, I opened it... perhaps equally awesome, if not better! Some fantastic swag items arrived! My wife is jealous about the hoodie, so I told her she...

    Entire setup...5.25 lbs

Drilling holes is far less of an issue than removing bark. Maybe we should reach out to an arborist and have them explain some of this. Maybe make a video for saddle hunters? They could give us some methods and opinions on best practices for those interested.
