    Ohio Youth Turkey Success

My brother took a youth hunter out for his first bird yesterday afternoon. It’s a public land spot we’re pretty familiar with so we know where the birds roost. Also I had put up a cell cam a week ago and knew the birds were walking down this gas well drive on a daily basis. About 9 hens and the...

    First Saddle Kill

It’s been a rough couple years. I’ve had some self inflicted issues (target panic) that led to poor form and some rushed shots. Anyway, we’ve had at least 15” of snow for about 2 weeks, and temps have struggled to get over 20°. A week ago I picked up 80 pounds of a deer feed mixture at a local...

    Aerohunter Kestrel Users

How many of you guys are still rocking with the Kestrel? I see all these new saddles that I wouldn't mind trying but can't see it being that big an improvement. I have been using the Kestrel since the 2018 season. I'm 5'11, 170 pounds and the size 1 seems to work great for me. I pretty much wear...

    Wild Edge/Perch Platform

Tried the Perch last night for first time in a hunting situation. First impressions, I love it. Rock solid and super light. I leave it snapped into the Wild Edge and set it about 2 ft above my top step. (I use 4 wild edge steps with knaider/swaider). It’s plenty wide enough and roomier than I...

    No Moving Stands Anymore

I was getting breakfast at my local diner this morning and noticed 2 guys pull up with a ladder stand on the back. My first thought was thank God I don’t need to do that anymore. Mostly hunted mobile with a climber but sometimes used presets on our private land. While making small talk they...

    Saddle Safety

So this is my first year saddle hunting. Got about 15 sits or so in the Kestrel. Yesterday morning I was set up in a Beech tree. Of course it was raining pretty hard, so between the smooth bark and the rain it was pretty slippery. I got up using my silent approach steps without too much...

    Silent Approach Steps

I'm new to saddle hunting this year, have half a dozen sits in the Kestrel now. I'm using a set of Silent Approach steps for climbing, and also 6 of the same steps (I got from @Jefferson10940) on a boat buckle strap for a ring of steps. Anyone else using this setup? It's lightweight obviously...

    Hello from Ohio

I live in NE OH and hunt a mix of public and private. I've always been a mobile hunter and have used a climber 90% of the time for 20 plus years. I just received my Kestrel recently but I'm still trying to figure out what my climbing method and platform will be.
