    PA big woods

Found a hot signpost rub on an old, grown in logging road during some in season scouting on a rainy day. Second sit there within a week and was able to catch this guy circling downwind of it on Friday, I also happened to be in a tree downwind of it :). On to NY now, and PA gun season to fill...

Re-design ballhead trail cam tree mounts (strap-on, public land legal)

I was talking through these with a couple a customers and buddies I had given a couple mounts to and came up with a re-design. We found we can get away with a smaller bracket that sits closer to the tree (easier to put on the tree and less side profile) without limiting movement. I also was...

    Let's talk custom bowstrings

Who makes the best stuff? Currently running a set of hogwires I had put on my bow when new that are 3... maybe almost 4 years old. Time for a new set. Should I stay with hogwires? Not sure if they are still in business or what the story is but their website leaves a lot to be desired. ABB...

Who's going elk hunting this year?

I leave in 10 days for New Mexico archery #2 (rut) and even though this isn't my first trip I'm still jacked up like it is. Anyone else got any trips they're pumped for?

Another giveaway on a ball-head trail cam mount. Scouting is underway and season's are coming!

I did this last winter as well but I want to do another giveaway on the small ball-head trail cam mounts that I 3d print. Material is UV and chemical resistant. Makes the camera fully aim-able and uses your regular tree strap instead of having to impale a tree (illegal in most public lands)...

Anyone else ever stumble across the ridiculous flashlight hobby?

I recently stumbled across the r/flashlight subreddit. Some of these things are ridiculous. Like a thumb size flashlight that throws a few hundred hards.

Viper Venom XL 5 pin sight

$60 TYD. Great condition, only used on one elk hunt in 2019. This thing is a pretty sturdy sight. Great for someone that likes to hike in deep. If I wasn't running one of the pro series react sights this would still be on my bow. I'll post some actual pics later...

Public land legal aimable trail cam mount

$15 plus the ride. I have tan, grey, and black. 3D printed from a weatherproof filament, screw your cam on the ballhead with the 1/4-20 female thread found on the bottom of most trail cameras. Other similar brackets use a screw in mount which is not legal on most public lands. This reuses...

Anyone mess around with 3d printing?

I get to play with our 3d printers at work. I just took advantage of the ender 3 sale creality has going on. Anyone have any functional prints for hunting stuff? I see quite a few bow hangers for tree straps on thingiverse.

After a season of ups and downs (mostly downs), success

A little back story, starting my 2019 season I messed up two oppurtunities with elk in CO (missed 1, then cow called while hiking to a new calling spot and called in a bull with my bow on my pack- lesson learned). Then, back in PA I have had numerous close calls on 2 bears and 2 giant bucks...

Has buying a thread injector for saddle building led to other outdoor projects?

I made a full set of washable meat bags (same material as my kuiu and black ovis elk bags), stuff sack pillow for my elk trips (overstuffed compared to my current camp pillow) and stuff sacks for gear organization in my pack. Next projects are a bivy and apex quilt. What else have you guys made?
