WTS: (4) Beast Sticks, already painted

Eh, I figure it was user error. I was jumping up and down on it. I probably didn't have the strap tight enough, but still.

    1st Buck. May have peaked.

Great write up! Why do all you guys up north hang your deer from the neck, lol? Guess it doesn't matter since you did a euro mount, which by the way looks magnificent! Crazy to think deer like this live on Long Island, NY. Awesome job.

    Lost/Left Behind/Forgotten

I temporarily lost the 1st custom knife my stepfather ever made back in the late 60s. He was a very well known custom rifle maker, stock maker and gunsmith and he had just given me that knife for my birthday before I went to WY on a DIY antelope hunt. Well, while quartering up the 'lope, I set...

    Masking your sounds?

Sometimes, if I'm walking in really crunch corn flake leaves, I'll break up my 1 - 2 step pattern by throwing in an extra step, dragging a foot momentarily, or using a walking stick. Anything that make it sound like you're NOT something on two legs. I've been able to walk up on deer slowly using...

What do I do with my backpack?

I've actually been using my pack, hung right in front of me at knee level, to store excess rope from my tree tether, and as a cushion to kneel against. It's especially comfy when I have my First Lite Sanctuary jacket in there. Wayyyy better than knee pads. Also, it doesn't interfere with...

    Live from the saddle 2019

Hunted a SMZ here on some public land. Saw 4 turkey, a YUGE woodpecker, NO deer.

    Beast sticks

Well, I bent a standoff on the beast sticks. I guess they aren't kidding when it says 300lbs weight limit. I was hopping up and down on it pretty good, but I guess I need to lose weight or figure something else out!

    Beast sticks

Nothing like dropping $345 when it's still dark outside...usually that involves bars, strippers, and other bad decisions!

    New from Northeast Alabama

Welcome! I'm in B'ham but hunt all over Bankhead, Cahaba, and a few other places. Sounds like we're getting a pretty good crop of saddle hunters in AL.

    Hand Muffs? anyone use?

I use a fleece muff that I will hang from my bridge. I've found the best way to warm your hands is to have skin on skin contact.

Big Guys (280lbs+) and the WEI Perch

I'm still able to pull my bow back fine, but there's a kind of pop when I do it. Not like a knuckle cracking, but like a joint thing. I need to go get it checked out. Also, like @always89y said, I'm going to try to stretch my rope on a dedicated step and see where that gets me.

Big Guys (280lbs+) and the WEI Perch

Yeah, I definitely tore something because it went SNAP!!! then was really stiff for like 2 weeks. It's just now getting to where it doesn't hurt. My shoulders are messed up from the military anyways though. Already had the left side rebuilt in 2017. I'm leaning heavily towards sticks and the...

Big Guys (280lbs+) and the WEI Perch

I'm 6'3" and trying to get below 275 by season and I just can't get the perch to work. Last season I used the WE steps with aider, then used two WE steps for a platform. I might just stick with this, less stuff to mess with. I just always seem to get hot and sweaty. Not to mention I injured my...

Big Guys (280lbs+) and the WEI Perch

Are any of you big fellas having problems with the WEI perch pulling the step standoffs away from the tree? I'm getting the standoffs as tight as possible and camming them over, but when I step on it always seems to pull the standoffs about 1/2" off the tree. What gives? I'm not sure if maybe I...

    Pods For A Cause (milkweed)

I'd like to get on the list if possible. I'm also working on an alternative for guys like me who don't have any milkweed growing around them (at least I can't find any).
