The biggest issue was that camping on state land ended around 10/11. We didn’t get a plan together in time, so would have had to camp on private which was more challenging to get together.

There is a ton of public out in that area though. Was using the Quabbin more as a geographic marker rather than the specific area we would have hunted.

There hasn’t been one before, this would have been the first. The initial plan was central Mass, somewhere near the Quabbin. @Patriot am I missing any info here?

As far as I know, this didn’t end up happening this year. There was some discussion of starting the planning earlier in 2022 (summer?) and making it happen next year though. Probably early October event date.

    New Aerohunter saddle?

Really excellent point on sitting vs. leaning which I failed to take into consideration. I lean 99% of the time, which is certainly a factor in my sizing decision. It’s not as comfortable when I sit and I could see the benefit of a larger size in that case.

    New Aerohunter saddle?

Totally agree with this. I’m 6’0” 195 with a 34 in waist and I’d never size up to a 2 from my size 1, having tried both.

Aerohunter Kestrel with a fixed webbing bridge. 5 Wild Edge Stepps and a knaider. Predator platform, squirrel steps ROS if I need to go in real light. I’m don’t cut every ounce, but prefer to go in light.

What does your 2021 system look like?

    wrist strap release recommendations?

Spot Hogg Wiseguy would be my suggestion. I’ve shot many of the Scott releases, and they’re not bad but don’t compare to the Spot Hogg. Much more adjustment and fine tuning available. Buy once, cry once.

Whose rockin the wild edge steps this year

5-7 Wild Edge steps will be my primary method this year. 5 hanging off of the Gripr, 1 or 2 set up standing on the ground. Knaider to stretch the height out a bit. They all go into the hydration bladder attached to a Predator pack for the hike in. Unzip, attach 1 or two, rest of them hanging on...

    Best Backpack

I ran the Eberlestock X2 for years and don’t have a bad thing to say about it. I did find myself taking more things with me than necessary though. This year, I’ve downsized to a Tethrd predator pack with a Spanker hydration pack attached. Running 5 WE Stepps with a Knaider which fit easily in...

I'm in for this. I've done a little camping out that way, but always on .gov land. I think you're right that the state camping ends middle of October, so would probably want to focus on private sites. This should end up being a really fun weekend. Even though I'm in state, I don't make it that...
