Lone Wolf Custom Gear Kuhnert Ambush Bent bolt/Fix

I will say that I bent my first api that I drilled out similarly. Not to this level though. My assumption was the api’s didn’t use the same quality of aluminum. I’m 260 for reference, and wondered how these didn’t get any deflection in the post.

    Versa Button Placement on Sticks

Those look like APIs. I was able to use existing hole when I cut the sticks to 24”. I can’t remember which direction I started from but the placement was very similar to DIY Sportmams 24” stick build. I think mine are a little over 10” down from the top. No issues with mine. They work great.

    Poor mans beast stick (Pictorial)

You definitely do not need to cut them down for the versa straps to work. You have to use the regular ones, not the minis. I think I cut about 3/16” off the bottom with a dremel and a cut off wheel. I wanted to allow the sticks to pack more compactly.

    Poor mans beast stick (Pictorial)

Another easy mod is to counter sink the head of the bolt on the versa button and cut down the versa button if you are using a daisy chain. The sticks really pack compact then.

    Poor mans beast stick (Pictorial)

I detailed a mod of these sticks here (https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/api-huntn-stick.6908/page-3#post-275943). High level, 2.26lbs per stick with only non-stock mod being versa straps.

    API huntn stick

[Post 4 of 4]. Grabbed final weights of my modified sticks. 984.5g (2.17 lbs) for the stick, 1024g (2.26lbs) for stick and versa strap. I'm looking at 6.77lbs for 3 sticks. Eventually, a set of Beast Sticks is probably in my future (but down on the list of things to purchase). Three Beast Sticks...

    API huntn stick

[Post 3 of 4]. Finished up my stick mods this weekend. I'll get the final weight tomorrow. I ended up going with 1/2 holes down the front and back and 3/8" holes on the sides. Cut the versa buttons down and countersunk the bolts. I had access to a mill, and milled the steps down to ~3/8" thick...

    API huntn stick

My sticks were 24" overall. I haven't had any issue with button placement on these sticks and as I mentioned earlier, they are very close to what @bowhunter15 used for his DIY sticks. I've got some factory three steps that I feel like pull away from the tree on the bottom step when you grab on...

    API huntn stick

I tried 8mm Grand rope but I could never really get it to work. I needed to cut the versa buttons down so it would grab better but still had problems. Thought about swapping out for a different versa button that was defeating the purpose of the build (ie modding the existing sticks in a cost...

DIY Platform (original lone wolf seat) vs Predator [advice needed]

I am planning on integrating a saddle into my hunting setup next year. I have an older lone wolf alpha that put a new seat on so I could use the easy hang hook with it and from what I can tell this seat works well as a base for a platform. I would have no problem following examples on here and...
