My question is how good should your physcal shape should be using a tree saddle

I think if you're currently lugging around a climbing stand and climbing trees with that every hunt, you're in plenty good shape to use a tree saddle.

Achilles heel of the saddle system

Mine was riding up occasionally also. I got my new j hooks for the leg straps on my mantis hooked them up high and tightened to comfort, put the old j hooks back onto the ends of the leg straps and hooked the slack to the bottom loops and tightened. It solved the issue.

Extra safety precautions - Lineman's belt and tether

Right. There is that second with the open carabiner. Even though your bridge is still tight against the bottom of the biner, i guess it is a second of vulnerability. It gives me a lot more confidence the rest of the time up there though. Or like you said, I could eliminate that second by...

Extra safety precautions - Lineman's belt and tether

Is there any reason I wouldn't want to just leave my linemans belt clipped to the dedicated loops on the mantis and clip it into my tether biner but leave it loose? It keeps it out of the way as well as acts as a back up bridge. I also saw a video where someone tied a loop on the end of the...

    Prusiks

After doing some deeper research, I did find that the 6mm sterling prusik cords that come with the mantis have a tensile strength of 1978#. It just seems weird to me that it wouldn't be something more widely discussed. When I saw the size of it, i was pretty leary to attach to it. Forced me to...

    Prusiks

I guess what I'm trying to understand is... why do I never see a kN rating for the prusik when that is what you're actually attached to? I can find one for the tether and biner, but not for the prusik. It would seem to me like that one would be just as important

    Prusiks

I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere if someone can provide a link, but what type of rope are the prusiks made of? It seems like this would be the weakest link to me after receiving my mantis. I do have a ropeman on way it's way, but I'm curious as to the weight rating on that tiny rope...

    Climbing with just a platform

Very interested in seeing how to maneuver around limbs with this

    Stealth steps

Thank you! I figured it had to have been discussed. I thought I'd looked through everything. Must have overlooked it. So much information on here!

    Stick advice

Yes, and as much as I would love to support Infalt, not sure I could slip that past the wifey

    Stealth steps

Has anyone tried the stealth steps? Either as a climbing method with an aider or just as a platform?

    Stick advice

Here's my dilemma... I have a bass pro gift card and was wanting to purchase climbing sticks with it as that will be the last piece to my puzzle after Santa brings my Tethrd Mantis (probably way late :)). The Heliums seemed like the way to go for me with the weight and step size, but they are...
