    Ar build

@Weldabeast did you try different mags with that 350? I'd have a failure to feed on my BCA 450 once and awhile and I figured out the mags I was using didn't chamber the round properly. I settled on a Lancer mag and follower and cleared the problem up. The straight walled cartridges can be a bit...

    Is this good enough?

I have one of those bows with 40lb limbs and drawing a little less at my draw length. I bareshafted with 600 spine Gold Tip traditionals but they're cut pretty short, I can update length and total arrow weight if necessary when I get home. I have 175 gr up front not including the inserts that...

    Kayak Landing Gear

You could drill holes or weld a couple hooks on the downriggers so you could run a ratchet strap under the kayak to support most of the weight and keep the weight off those screws when in tow.

Going to start leatherworking for fun, tips?

Mine is stitched. If you prefer two layers at the finger, they need to be independent of each other to allow both to move so they don't bunch up and create a ridge or bunched up spot for the string to catch on at release. I guess that's the beauty of taking up leather working...try something...

Going to start leatherworking for fun, tips?

If you don't know about Tandy leather, check it out. www.tandyleather.com Look at garage sales and Goodwill for old leather coats, chaps, etc that can be used for material. Be sure to make sure they're not worth something first though before cutting them up!

Looking for a cheap recurve - FOUND

I'd suggest looking into the "Black Hunter" recurve or longbow. They can be had under $100, are available on Amazon and Ebay as well as other archery shops but are usually re-branded at a higher price. They're glass back/belly and a bamboo core and shoot very nice. I believe there are some knock...

    Blade sharpening...WOW

Free hand sharpening seems like an art to me. I just don't have the confidence to hold the proper bevel consistently so I use a Work Sharp precision adjust. I'll finish off with a strop I've made from some old scrap leather. I add meguiars mirror glaze buffing compound to on the rough suade side...

    Waldrop Pac Seat- Which one?

That's about my only gripe, it can get annoying. There's a solution though. Post in thread 'Pacseat mods: Putting the 'pack' in Pacseat, & other things' https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/pacseat-mods-putting-the-pack-in-pacseat-other-things.46592/post-642264

    Cat Trax climbing sticks

I've heard you may be able to drill out those tubes (like beast sticks) to shave some weight. Just an idea that wouldn't cost much. I guess I can't say how much though based on your weight, climbing style, etc.

    Cat Trax climbing sticks

Lone Wolf was on first. I'd probably let this set go for $250 a stick :) they're aluminum though and come in right around 6lbs. For that price, it would be cheaper to buy Lone Wolf (now Novix) single step sticks and buy 1" carbon fiber square tubing and make your own swapping the hardware.

    Bowfishing

They're pretty good smoked or fried. I brine them then put em on the smoker. You can make carp cakes like crab cakes with the smoked meat or flake pieces off and eat. The pups love the smoked carp mixed in their dog food too. Frying them is good but they're a little more challenging to clean and...

    Bowfishing

I bowfish a decent amount and fiberglass arrows are tough. Older arrows or ones left in the elements for awhile can start to develop loose fiberglass hairs that suck when getting in your finger or hand when handling them so keep an eye out for that. If they start to get funky you can sand them...

    Hickory Creek Koolaid

Yeah but check with your regs because in it's stock form it's not "shoulder fired" and that's one of the stipulations that defines a crossbow for hunting here.

    Climbing platform research and development.

I thought there was a thread awhile ago like this already but like you said if you could make one transformable from climbing to just a regular old onestick/strap on platform that would be handy. If a person could use the climbing feature between branches then have the ability to go back to one...

    Tree Styx

They seem like a renegade in a flooded market but it looks like they had too much time on their hands coming up with this design. I feel like you're fooling yourself if you don't think these are the best of times for saddle hunting and being the top man in the wilderness. The guy inventing them...
