    Friction Hitches

Hey, I just found this thread and am processing all of the great information, but I'm confused - isn't Brocky's hitch (2nd from the right, as John RB pointed out) the same as John RB's that he's naming the Agile hitch?

    Option for climbing platform

Yeah, I don't think this is it either now, and after looking at it, how would you get the lower "stick" above the bracket of the higher stick without reattaching it?

    Option for climbing platform

Would it be bad form to post a link to the patent? I think I found it. Edit: This thing is bad ass. It solves the problem of getting around limbs. Wink wink.

    New Gear Release 2022!

Check out the new climbing stick prototype from JX3 in this new video. I have no details, but looks like a strong option.

Did Treehopper just sneak in a climbing platform?

OK, I haven't been super active in the saddle world for a while, but I was just randomly checking Treehopper's website, and they have two climbing stands - a 12L and a 12XL (link below). Now I get that climbing platforms are like anchovies - you either love them or hate them, but I'm just seeing...

    Lightweight Barren ridge platform

My brother got the camo version, and I just got the black one in today. The camo one has a serious alignment issue on the left side. You really have to bend it back to shove the pin through. My black one has more of an issue with the hole being off a bit. That should be an easy fix with a drill...

    Lightweight Barren ridge platform

Good info. I was wondering about just using the cross member. Since they used wire lock pins, I was wondering if lifting up on the cross member would be noisy.

    Lightweight Barren ridge platform

I just sold my modified LWHC to get one of these. My brother got one, and I'll get to evaluate it this Saturday. Curious about your thoughts after a climb or two.

Who is hunting from a JX3 ? (I'm seeking input)

It was great. I usually just use my Doyle's. It permanently lives on the underside of the JX3 seat now.

Who is hunting from a JX3 ? (I'm seeking input)

The only time I've climbed with it in the gun bearer was when I forgot my hoist rope. I don't think the gun bearer would work with a bow - the boot portion is only big enough for a gun stock.

    Hunting Journaling/Record Keeping

Greetings Folks, I've hunted my whole life (besides taking a decade off during college/early career). I got serious about hunting three years ago after changing my life health wise and losing a bunch of weight. In these last three years I took up saddle hunting and started hitting public land...

    Things saddle hunters say:

Posts here: "Know your equipment and seek professional training." In reality: Has climbed and rappelled 6 times in his back yard, hasn't sought professional training and is working off the same YouTube videos as everyone else.

North Georgia Public Land Deer Camp

Hey, I'm in Gainesville. I'm down for a hunt. I actually started hitting Redlands some last year.

How have your T one sticks held up?

Just to stretch my three sticks out a bit. I'd rather deal with more "aiderage" closer to the ground LOL.

How have your T one sticks held up?

I've had mine for a couple of months, but honestly I've only tried them out 4 times. I'll get to practicing with them soon. I'm running aiders off of them on the bottom step (a three step on the first stick, two step on the second, then one step on the third), so that should put the bottom steps...

An argument against separate weapon seasons

Your reason #1 is spot on. I'd started hitting a particular piece of public land after last deer season. I put miles and miles of boots on the ground. Sometimes, my scouting was very fruitful and resulted in identifying a tree that I'd like to hunt. Other times, I'd push in to what seemed like a...

    The No-Shame Thread

What a fun thread. Thank you @Nutterbuster for this no-shame space. 1. I don't like the taste of beer (red wine and liquor for me). 2. I've never harvested a deer with a bow. I just got a crossbow 3 years ago and didn't practice much, but I took it with me during bow season. Shot once at a doe...
