    Rappelling kits

There’s arguments for (ease of use/braking) and against (simpler/less to go wrong) mechanical devices like the safeguard. I would suggest buying a low-cost (I don’t mean cheap, they’re just much cheaper than mechanicals) ATC or Figure 8 just to understand how to rappel. You’ll also want to learn...

I am interested in this, too.

Hunt Arsenal Small Razor For Sale

I’ve used this only a few times. I like it a lot, just gonna tinker with some other options because I have a problem. $175 PP F&F TYD

Anyone use pants with integrated knee pads?

I’ve recently picked up some FL Corrugate Foundry pants and a been pleasantly surprised with how much I like the knee pads in general, even when not sitting in a saddle. I don’t know if I would want my $200 pants continually digging into tree bark all the time but they work pretty well IMO.

    My LW Climber MOD

I guess one could run from webbing to the old stabilizer straps so it couldn’t get away from you in the event it was being used without the post mod.

    My LW Climber MOD

Need one that somehow folds over or around or beside that toe bar.

    My LW Climber MOD

That’s a cool mod for sure. I would like to try but hate to go to town on my old climber now that they are extinct.

So do you attach the post to the tree once at height?

    Friction Hitches

I am far from an expert but I guess I am curious how often these need to be tied in the dark—especially on a tether. I have lots of tethers set up with the Knut hitch (which meets your properties fairly well) and it is about as easy to tie as anything. At the same time, I leave it tied and the...

That's true. I also had a FL gift card to partially unload on it. Is that a TN stick in the Tethrd pic?

    2024 Gear thread

It is definitely on the high side. I liked some of the concepts and wanted to try it, and I agree the comfort level there is beyond most anything I have tried. There are things I don't like, too, but then again that has been the case with all the saddles I have tried. I like the idea of the...

Is that right? I just think it is comfortable and shockingly lightweight for what it is. I really couldn't care less about the name or any fanboi activity.

Nothing, they put some new paint on there and jacked it right on up by a cool $150.

I have that one and like it well enough (it was 20% off awhile back). I will note the inside of the pouches is not orange like on their regular models.

Multiple Climbing Methods and Sets of Gear

That’s good advice. I do enjoy reading and talking to folks here so don’t want to just quit the site. I also don’t cruise social media or YouTube at all unless someone sends me something so I am perhaps better off than some on that addictive front. I’ll also say I am likely not alone in just...

Multiple Climbing Methods and Sets of Gear

Does anyone ever find themselves longing for multiple saddles, packs/pouches, and the associated accessories for different climbing methods? This is probably along the lines of not being minimal and worrying more about gear than actual deer hunting, but sometimes I don’t know until I’m ready to...

    Firstlite Pack

I think they are actually phasing cipher out entirely so anything left with that is on borrowed time.

    Firstlite Pack

My guess is that since FHF and FL are now part of one brand they aren’t doing collaborations with direct competition. Of course that could be off base entirely, but it seems like I see less and less FL camo on non-Meateater brands unless it’s something they don’t make at all.
