Are some rubber boots better with ground scent?

Yeah, it's one of those things where it might help, but I don't want to deal with the hassle. Forget to change your boots out or can't one time, and you have to detail your car and scrub your home flooring for a few hours. I'll just be less successful. I had a bottle of "Antler Ice" buck pee...

    Chronographed, Real-World Bow Speed

My bow as configured shoots 265 fps (60 lbs, 30", 420 grain arrow, good bit of weight on string (big peep, kisser, soft nocks, d loop, 2 small cat whiskers)) That back calculates to 315 fps IBO The IBO spec is 330 fps on performance cam mode But I'm shooting comfort mode which subtracts...

Places to get 'trial' shafts and arrows

PS....if you called, maybe they'd bust a 12 pack open. It's weird because they sell so many shafts that this service can't be hurting them and is a nice gesture that people really like. Maybe they didn't like cutting 1 shaft to length but they could get around that by only selling less than 12...

Places to get 'trial' shafts and arrows

For the Gold Tips I looked at, yes. Only 12 packs.

Places to get 'trial' shafts and arrows

I can't believe Lancaster (after decades of doing so) stopped selling individual shafts. They sell so many, all they had to do was keep one pack out of 100s busted open to grab a shaft. Probably some kid in the warehouse couldn't handle the complication.

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

worst part of saddle hunting....only thing I don't like really.....is that your 6 is not covered by the tree so deer can sneak up on you in that direction and see you itching your nose because you didn't see them coming....when i'm set up on wet/quiet days where a deer could approach my 6 it is...

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

I'd rather swing backward to 6 oclock (or even 5 or 4) than attempt 2 oclock (especially from a platform).

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

You want deer at your 2 o clock as a rightie? For me, that's like worst case scenario. If so, please elaborate. Or did you mean 9 o clock plus or minus 2 hours? Maybe I read you wrong as "from 9 to 2 oclock".

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

What you did that is BS is you told me what I meant and when I said "nope" you insisted that indeed that is what I meant. You should avoid that. It is a BS technique, and is not good faith argumentation. And that is why I became angry, but it is not an excuse for me not behaving correctly.

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

I purposefully removed that part in an edit because it was an impulsive statement that I didn't wish to have displayed publicly after thinking about it for 30 seconds. And I know that I know almost nothing about your background and so I made a statement that might very well be untrue, and so it...

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

I wasn't suggesting anything. You projected what you thought I meant onto me and are even now saying "no, you're wrong in what you wrote and your own intentions." You honestly think asking a an honest question is suggesting something? Serious question, do you have ESPN? I was asking...

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

    1. look up definition of term "maybe" that i purposefully used, asking questions (even in a roundabout way) is the opposite of short-sighted 2. it is unwise to say "those experts that take my money are so smart that I should trust them totally and implicitly".....I've been disappointed by a...

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

agree...it's good to list a series of workable setups because when you are out there you can flip through and fit something to the scenario one thing i do now more is if going to a new area, stand back and look for trees and how i might setup (i use my 6x rangefinder to do this sometimes since...

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

nice art! that's a good setup, but one disadvantage can be that you might need to draw when the deer's eyes are pointing towards you, but it is still a good one one setup i also like is setup so that the deer's path is going from right to left perpendicular to a line from you to the tree...

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

Good call...there's also comfortable viewing angle to take into account. I pinched a nerve in my neck (which thankfully healed up) one year in a hang on because I routinely setup so that my shot was to the left where I could shoot while seated. Well, that meant I would spend long, cold days...

that's a way smaller diameter than we'd ever go around also, on a thicker tree the 'biner never really touches the wood much

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

Y-axis is kilopounds per square inch? If so, I'm guessing this is a general curve and any specific aluminum piece would have it's own curve (?). If so, is there a way to convert this curve into a carabiner-specific one to get an idea of how many cycles they can withstand? Seems like carabiner...

    Saddle Tree Setup Discussion

I always try to setup so that my most likely shot will be around 8 to 10 o'clock (I'm a rightie). I'm a leaner and I'll sometimes setup so that I'll spend time splitting the right corner of the platform or totally leaning off the right side. Then when a deer approaches, I'll move onto the...

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

Maybe the 'biner makers are just wrong not to be concerned? Maybe they don't think climbers are going to be sitting and shifting on aluminum all the time while climbing? Maybe a lot of us are using climbing gear in ways that rock climbers do not? I don't want to beat a dead horse even more...
