    Saddle Station

I don't know how well this will work or not, but I had an idea and threw it together. It's a molle frame and harness. You wear it in and it straps to the tree in front of you. There's a foam knee pad for knee comfort held in place with a bungee cargo net that you can throw extra clothes layers...

    Single step and aider

With Cranford going out of business and selling out of inventory, I thought I'd see if anyone was still using this method or had tried and moved away. I have Cranford rope steps, and I had made an amsteel daisy chain with webbing footloop, but never really got around to using it much.

    Deboning deer videos

Even though I've deboned a lot of deer, I still find myself watching how others do it. This is an old one, but gives a great tip to remember when you're deboning deer. Take the bone out instead of taking the meat off. It exposes less surface area to the elements.

Deer behavior, movement, and biology Q&A

The Deer University guys put out a recent Q&A video/podcast set. Give it a listen or view if interested in that kind of thing. They take questions they've received on behavior, movement, and biology. Some topics discussed are scent factors, ways deer get from food to cover, home ranges and how...

Modless Mod for JX3 Hybrid fitting and meat hauling

This helped me. I found the waist belt rode below my hips which bothered me. I'm short. I didn't want to mod the placement of the waist belt, and I didn't want to take off any of the mesh because I kind of like it. So, I lowered the attachment point of the shoulder straps which made the waist...

Carrying Bolts and Drill with JX3 Hybrid Versa Pack System

For those people using the JX3 Hybrid with the Pack system, that binocular pouch has a perfect section on the back of it to store a bunch of bolts and a treehopper mini drill. It packs really nice and puts them right where you need them while installing bolts.

    JX3 Hybrid raised chair/stool

Has anyone made a modular type stool or chair attachment for the bottom of the JX3? I was thinking of something like this that had some type of inserts at the top that fit into the bottom chair risers of the Hybrid. It would fold into a compact cylinder and stowed underneath. It would be nice...

    PackOutBags.com

Anybody here try these? I use a pack with a waist belt, but this could open up more options since it folds down so small when not in use. https://packoutbags.com/

    Extremely Detailed Topo Maps

LIDAR has been mentioned before, but also check for 5ft DEM when searching your state. More states are making these really detailed map layers available without having to download GIS software. They're really good for showing minor terrain changes. Some even let you overlay aerials.

Not my pictures or video, but looks promising for doing away with metal carabiners.

    Perfect pouches for rope steps

If anyone is looking for a good way to pack and deploy Cranford rope steps easily, this is the ticket. These are turkey pouches for the Alps Pathfinder. They come in a set that clip onto the front. Each fits 6 Cranford rope steps. It puts them in easy reach as you climb. And, I've hauled ten deer...

I'm looking for an OCB for rope if anyone has seen something like that before that they can post a link to.

    Cranford Rope platform mod

I know variations of this have been done. This is just another one. It gets the rope tight. But don't overdo it, or you could stress the metal hook. With the ratchet on a loop, it shortens the distance between steps. The hitch in the steps lets you move the steps, but they stay in place instead...
