    Micro-cleat failure?

I’m confused but the failure, could you post a picture? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Micro-cleat failure?

Sorry, I realized I came off a bit rash... I’m an engineer so typically a poor communicator [emoji51]. Just trying to point out the differences... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Micro-cleat failure?

It is 100% not carbon fibre (the way you think of carbon fibre) if it were it would be useless as it’s made because carbon fibre is terrible in compression, it would just crumble. Carbon fiber is by definition a composite laminate, and would be very difficult to lay in a 3D shape like the part...

    Micro-cleat failure?

The aluminum cams are a better choice than the plastic and the two are the same size. I have one plastic and 2 aluminum on my hawks, the only difference I can tell is the plastic cam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Micro-cleat failure?

Yeah, I really don’t see a case where worst case loading takes over, as soon as you slip, the majority load transfers to the teeth / standoff. As far as I can see... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2020 Broadhead choice?

Because the time I have to hunt is precious, opportunities are limited and when I let go of that 644gr 22%foc arrow, it’s going to go all the way through. I can’t afford a “bonk”, oh no what happened? Why is the arrow still sticking out of the deer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

My short hack is just my logic(previous post), the free body diagram would be my check. I’m a mechanical engineer, but honestly my gut is better than my skills lol. There are no shortcuts in free bodies. But think of it this way, friction on the rope in the tree should cause a load split between...

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

I used the micro, and like I said in a previous post, to load the cam with 300lbs would be impossible if it’s properly installed. I’ll see if I can make some time to draw a free body diagram to prove it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

Yes I got to get in a tree with them side by side with a versa strap. I didn’t notice any additional/excessive movement relative to the versa strap. Setup saves some margin of time but the savings will really show themselves in cold weather and trees where you can’t seem to find the right loop...

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

I think the suction cups are worth keeping so that they stack nice. Id make the effort to keep them, they are quiet and useful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

Added some shock cord to the end of the rope with some marine grade heat shrink (with adhesive). The length works out really nice, not a lot of wasted material here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

Put the sticks on a tree for comparison today. Took a video but I am going to modify the ropes by adding shock cord to make storing simple before I post a comparison video. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

Update, rope came in. I’m running about 6 1/2’ which I based on where the wrap would end and still be sufficient for my typical tree size. I attached the rope through the button hole with a half hitch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

I’m not worried about the pound rating at all, I haven’t drawn a full free body diagram but the worst case loading would be assuming the standoffs are not supporting any of the load, and even then the load on the cam would the the tension in the rope which would worst case be your half your...

    Hawk Helium vs. Muddy Pros

Hardware update: the m4 cap screws I ordered have a small head diameter that actually sank into the bearing cover on the cam cleat. Issue solved by adding a washer under the head. A round button style head may be a better choice. There is no getting around clearance issues though, you have to...

6mm Sampson was recommended by Diyhunter for these through DanO so that’s what I got, hasn’t shown up yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
