    Heavy-ish arrow build help

Archers advantage is $12 for a year, it'll let you enter all your bow specs and play with different arrow configurations. For antelope I'd lighten your arrow setup to 450 to 500gr. That'll kill anything in North America with a good fixed blade. And with antelope there's a good chance you'll need...

Hawk helium 20 inch stick vs full length

I have the full length Hawk sticks. I hunted with them all last season and really liked them after I exchange the straps for amsteel rope and swapped out the button. Arctic shield boot covers

Also this year I've gone to an uninsulated leather boot and just a heavy set of merino wool socks. My feet have been more comfortable this year than ever and I've tried several insulation rubber and leather boots throughout the years.

    Arctic shield boot covers

For those of you who has used the covers, is your footing as secure with them as without them and I'm concerned about the noise. I have a set of the Icebreaker and they are great but haven't tried them in my saddle.

    Another platform option

I looked at doing a DIY platform but by the time I bought new parts and the time and frustration I wouldn't be far from the cost of a new platform.

Who here has killed an elk?

Finding elk is the biggest obstacle. A trick if you're have problems locating is to go out of a night and bugle. Once you locate elk mark it on OnX and come back in the morning.

New saddle guy here. Why would I not want to use an Amsteel Daisy Chain on my Predator Platform? I just watched a video on Tethrd's versa strap. With the "Toe over Method", wouldn't a Amsteel Daisy Chain work the same? Tethrd's website state's the versa strap is made of the same material as the...

Lord have mercy, backpacking gear is expensive!

Watch camofire.com they have been starting to having Mystery Ranch packs (a good pack is worth the investment). Also check steepandcheap.com for sleep bags, pads and hydration systems. If water is readily available, a lot of people just run a Sawyer squeeze. Don't over look good boots and take...

    Face paint recommendations

I've tried several that require a scrub brush to get off. Carbomask is great. A little soap and water or a baby whip and you're good to go.
