Suggested WMA to hunt hogs in South Carolina

We‘ve got pigs on public in and around Clemson. About 30 min from Greenville. However, you are regulated to use what ever weapon goes with the open season which would be small game weapons right now.

    Best Economy Hand Muff

Take an old winter jacket and cut the sleeve out and sew the cut end so the insulation doesn’t fall out. I saw that posted somewhere before. The guy was using old lightweight puffy jackets to make lightweight compressible hand muffs.

    Preferred Pants

They also sell the stretchy wrangler pants at walmart. They are great for the price. The don’t hold up well to briars but at the price I can afford to by a new set next year.

Hello from Greenville, SC...How does the old Trophy Line compare to todays saddles?

I’m in Clemson and was seduced into saddle hunting many years ago by the old leather trophy line saddle. It was heavy but still easier to carry than a climber but I could never get as comfortable as in my old climber. I have since transitioned into the newer saddles. The 2 that i use now are the...

Easiest climbing methods for old guys

I like bolts. But this season I’m going to buy some focus on the ground game. I got a Waldrops Pac seat (3 pounds I think) super comfortable. No limits to where you can hunt. It was great the other night when it was 90 degrees outside and I didn’t have to climb. We’ll see how it goes this season.

It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

I was able to go and spend some time with John at his house on Sunday. Trust me when I say they are working on getting Hybrids built. It was all hands on deck Sunday afternoon. I’ve been saddle hunting for 15 or so years, I still have my old leather trophy line, The Hybrid is by far the most...

    Sling style pack

I use a messenger bag that was made by Sitka. I bought in on clearance. I really like it. It has some great organization and keeps me from taking too much :confused2: but allows me to carry everything I need. It also caries well if I have a tree stand on my back.

    Minimalist saddle minimalist gear

I quit carrying my binos and bought a 10x power monocular from vortex, very light and compact and got it new on eBay for around $40. Works great..

    Howdy from Tiger Town

Ha Ha, No Tiger Woods. Clemson, SC. Home of the Clemson Tigers. The saddle is a large plus I'm not sure I'm ready to part with it just yet.

    Howdy from Tiger Town

I've been a saddle hunter for a long time. I hunt from an old leather Trophy Line tree saddle. I've modified it over the years but am now looking for something lighter. Most of my hunting is done on public land so a nice lightweight set up is what I'm after. After doing some reading I think I...
