Got my social distancing in today and maiden voyage of using HH Sticks, H2 saddle, & Ridge runner in an area I have been scouting. Lots of evidence of elk. Definitely will need to get 8-10 mock climbs in to get the hang of the process but definitely felt secure once getting the tether in place. 1st unclip of the linesman and lean back was a bit of a pucker!

Test your tether while keeping your linemans belt on. You can load your tether to take any slack up before unclipping the lineman rope. Just one of those things I do just in case. You will feel not comfortable after a couple dozen practice climbs, you really cant do jt enough

Oh, yes I did keep the linemans rope on before unclipping as I loaded the tether. Just felt a bit odd purposely leaning out. Kind of like the 1st time hooking on to the trapeze wire on a Hobie!

I have one season in a saddle and I still feel that pucker factor when I switch to the tether. I think that's a good thing as the transitions are the time for caution.
