What do you do with the repelling rope / tether when you get to hunting? I saw Greg Staggs put his in a pouch on his saddle. How about the roll pouch users. I pull up my hanging rope in a figure 8 ,cinch in and roll up the bag with enough slack for adjusting and rotate around the tree for concealment and shot opportunities. What then? Is there anything that you can do to hold it above you to keep it out of the way while in the saddle? I am obviously new to 1sticking! Thanks again for your advice.

I coil mine up in around my arm and then put it in my back pack. On the rare occasions I’m not using a back pack, I use a nite ize gear tie twisted around it then hung from my gear strap on the back side of the tree

My tether/rappel lives in an EWO fleece pouch on my saddle . I only take out what I need for tether duty and leave the top of the pouch open/loose. As u rappel down the rope will feed out on its own

I don't have a video, just stuff it in a bit at a time from one end to the other.

I haven't tried this out hunting yet but I can't imagine why it won't work out fine. The TX-5 dump pouches have a easy on/off attachment that I can put my rappel rope on my hip to climb and then take it back off when I'm at hunting height. I can't imagine that I would enjoy walking through the woods with 40 feet of rope bouncing off my saddle so I picked up one of these to try:

Easy enough to replicate this setup with whatever you already have but it was easier for me to just buy the finished product.

The water bottle pouch is great but be aware they come in several sizes. I went thru a lot of them before I found one that will fit 40+ feet of 9mm rope with safe guard. The smaller ones works great with my 40 ft of oplux with my MR. the orca listed above is great but one I have is slightly bigger but another great option is to go to CGM and get a drop bag by the @always89y that is a great option that you can wear in and clip to tree like we discussed previously. I would get one from Jerry If I didn’t already build something similar. Can’t go wrong with this madman of the sewing world. LOL
Ps check out @valerio024 latest video on the drop bag!!!

U got a link to a video of that? I just stuff it in there and haven't had any tangles yet but if there's a correct way to do it I'd like to know
If I recall correctly, I saw @Red Beard do it that way in one of his videos. He just feeds it into a water bottle pouch and it feeds out the same way....no tangles.

This was kinda like the idea that I was going to suggest for the roll pouch. Can you tell me about the water bottle bag that you’re using.
