2 new Treehopper stands

I have a tree suit coming and should be here any day. I’m really intrigued by the crotch rocket. Didn’t know there were 2 sizes. Anyone recommend one size over the other?

This is strictly a general bit of advice. The shape/spread/angle of the tree trunks will have a bearing on which size rocket will work best.
If I had to flip a coin, I would say that the larger size will give the user a little more needed space in the "average" tree (whatever "average" means).
In a tree with more parallel trunks, I'm thinking that the larger one would be better.
In a tree with trunk spread on a wider angle, the smaller one should work okay, too.
Either size will dictate where in the crotch it will work.
I tried one...it was rock solid.

Cool thanks for the advice. I didn’t think about overall space between two limbs like that. Makes sense there would be more overall where the bigger platform would fit. I would lean more towards the larger platform anyway (no pun intended) I think, just for the bigger floor space if nothing else.

I realize this is kind of a niche thing and wouldn’t be the goto for all situations, or even many situations. Still think I’m gonna have to try one sometime.

If you hunt anywhere with apple.trees-like old farmland, these are the bomb. I have both one of the old bear creeks ones which the crotch rockets are an updated version of, and the old screaming eagle. They are rock solid.

Awesome. Good to know! I don’t have any land like that to hunt at the moment but I’ve seen plenty of trees that split the places I normally go. So I think I could make one work somewhere.

Before the emerald ash borer killed all our ash trees, the perfect "Y"s in trees were common. Ash trees seemed to have that trait of a perfect crotch at the perfect height.
Stinking bug from China killed all our ash trees.

Oh yeah I can see that. Yeah those did a serious number. Funny all the great things coming out of China in the last decade or so.
