woops wrong quote
Hawk is almost always out of inventory on their website. Even when the full size sticks are in stock everywhere else
Dang! I had no issue. Ordered 2 sets but 7 days apart. Had both sets within 3 days of ordering. I know it’s next to impossible to find the single that’s why I ordered second set. Guess it’s good to have extra. Problem is I have extra Of a lot of stuff!

I remember thinking last fall that if I was carrying one stick, cutting off 8 inches would save very little weight and the 13 inch step spacing is just so convenient for us old guys. I tried SRT after that and haven't climbed a stick since. It is even easier for us old guys. ;)

In my case it’s not so much the weight as those 10 inches. I still haven’t found a way to carry the full size sticks on my pack without them either hitting my calves or sticking up over my head like antlers and getting hung up in everything. If they hadn’t come out with the 20 inchers I’d have probably ended up cutting my full size above the middle step.

I know what your saying there. You’ll luv the shorter sticks. I don’t attach to backpack. I use a shoulder sling made from a padded gym bag strap. You can still swing it around and carry behind you, but your also able to bring them around and maneuver them if you get in to the think stuff. Actually less stress on lower back. Which is awesome. I found it to be more maneuverable in the thicker stuff actually.

17" between steps is just too short for me though they will definitely pack through the woods a little better.

Plus according to my scale a single stick was 2.2 lbs with no strap or rope

I see where shorter step space is not for some but I found that the shorter step is more comfortable and for me I had knee replacement so I can’t quite do the longer step like I used too. I would take the minimal weight for comfort any day. Don’t have a pic but my scale has mine right at 1.8 lbs. All scales have a variance. Just comes down to personal preference as usual. I wish I was 20 yrs younger when I started this! :)

I just got a set of these and a versa aider from BWMG. I'm getting every bit of height I've always gotten from the 4 LW sticks I've used for the last 10 years. Plus, a lot less weight and bulk. Color me impressed!

Got mine in the mail yesterday. Not impressed with the steps. Some are angled some aren't. I can probably fix them with an angle grinder/Dremel. I guess the old saying you get what you pay for...

Anybody experience this besides me? My first set of hawks. Maybe I'm just nitpicking Screenshot_20200607-102621_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20200607-102635_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20200607-102631_Gallery.jpg

I didn't noticed the steps like yours but there are several blemishes on the post that I didn't see on my two other sets from last year.

So you are saying they Kuhnert-ed it up? Meaning they put out and inferior product, either not knowing or not caring that it was, because they were up against a clock and it was all about the profit?

Edit: Nothing against Mr Kuhnert, but when you put your name on a product, that’s the gamble you take.

Nahhh...i don't think its that bad. Well I'm not too familiar with what you're talking about. Assuming it's a LWCG platform, I feel like I saw his name next to one before. As long as none of the steps are sloping down i guess it doesn't matter. It prolly only bothers me because I know its there kinda thing. 1 or both of every 2 steps is off though.

You could probably take the level steps and mate them up and take the slightly raised steps and mate them up to make them more comfortable when standing with both feet.

FedEx just dropped mine off. Same deal. Out of 8 steps 2 are angled up. I will move them so they are on the bottom of the same stick. Suction cups don’t look like they will last long either. Out of the box with a white ring around them at the lip. All in all I was disappointed compared to the fit and finish of the set of full size sticks I bought last year. Can I assume that since I got them cheaper on campfire that they were maybe lower down on the old QC check? All that said. I’m going to keep them and use them til they break.

Yea i never really win with camofire deals. I bought a dozen junk axis arrows a while ago. Who knows man... pretty much half of mine are angled funky. Just seems like it can't be that hard to get the same everytime. Vietcong are slackin over there I guess. thats what we get.

@Gator thats a good idea man. Im gonna grind down a couple bad ones and see what happens. If not ill just switch em around.

I would take off a good one and compare to a bad one. I'm sure it doesn't take but a little tiny bit to change that angle a lot. Could also be some extra material in the groove of the post causing the issue.
